喺呀! 但St. Mary's academic performance is much better than St. Francis.  不過小朋友亦比較大壓力.

但日日要來回side咁多時間坐車個小朋友會唔會好辛苦呀

咁樣咪好晏先返到屋企? St Mary's 都唔少功課架喎..
以前我地住九龍, 褓姆車要搭其他學校出香港, 唔放心女女坐褓姆車
所以朝早就要帶佢搭小巴再轉地鐵出灣仔返學.. 都幾辛苦, 尤其係個書包咁重

名氣果d梗係St mary's 大啦! 但係小朋友咁樣返學會辛苦好多
不如中學先上St mary's啦..(雖然入讀機會細d)
但到時個女又大個左可以自己返學, 咪唔洗咁煩囉!

如是我, 會為小朋友著想, 當然去St. Francis啦.

你想下返學唔係返一陣, 要返全日, then 又一讀就6年喎, 遠路又要再早d 起身(小學返學時間一定早d 嫁la), 在落雨時就仲煩, 全身濕晒都未返到學校啦, 咁樣小朋友好辛苦o者.

再說你住的是香港島, 升中派位就應梗好啦, 香港島的中學咪仲好過. 唔駛為咁而要日曬雨淋來返學, 小朋友真會好辛苦嫁. 你想清楚啦. (這是我個人意見)

      Sorry !我的意見少有D St. Mary 啦!
我嗰friend 住順利DSQ 嗰女 K1 考到香港聖保lok 每日九個字車程.  自己找保母車, 車費重貴嗰學費, 你話吾直得咩.  佢又吾喺咁想呀!  講真你女女小學啦, 都夠大啦.  

     我知好多人都吾同意去咁遠.   我呢經過考小學一戰.  中學真喺有Ｄ怕, 直上更喺好Ｄ.     最重要喺你女女是否一個容易集中功課做得快嘅人,  因為放學回家會遲一個鐘.

其實要視乎妳喜歡那一間多些？
不過話時話，妳都好好彩喎，住香港島都派到St.Mary。
另外，妳揀St.Mary嗰時，唔係已經考慮埋交通嗎？？
如果妳鍾意St.Mary, 咁不如考慮搬啦。St.Mary係一條龍，又有預科，咁就已經有13年唔駛煩(由小學至預科)。搬都係煩一次啫。况且唔一定要揀尖沙咀

How often will you meet your relatives ? Your daughter goes to school every day. It's a little bit selfish of you if it is the reason of not move the place.

If I were you, I prefer to move  to a smaller place (for economic consideration) to save the six years travel time of my beloved kid.

If I were you, I'll choose to move to Kln but not in TST, or even you want to have a bigger flat w/ lower cost , you can consider Kln West or NT. Cos I know so many children in St Mary live far away from TST.

You have not lived in Kln or NT, how can you know you can't find a better place ??

Anyway, I'll choose St Mary which is a very good school for girls

Thanks for all the advices.

In fact, my girl is only in K2 now, and will only choose schools coming sept.  

My hubby does not want me to pick St. Mary's due to transportation problem.  And I also understand that it will be very tiring for both my girl and me!

Regarding relocation problem, my parents in law and my parents are overseas about 7-8 months per year.  When they are in HK, they all live on HK island and  my daughters meet them almost everyday.  So moving to Kln side seems cruel to the aged, as they have to travel long way to visit their granddaughter.
Besides, I am living in my in laws' apartment and do not need to pay rent at all, so moving out is a big burden.

Up till now, I still cannot make up my mind. :cry:

If I were you, I would try to find another school of similar calibre to St. Mary's on the HK side.

You may think about St. Stephen's girls, or Sacred Heart. Assuming that your child can get into St. Mary's, I guess she'll also be able to get into these schools.

咁你個女有幾多分呢？20分？
如果兩間都有20分你應該係天主教？
唔會兩間都係舊生啩？
論機會率，St. Francis' 當然比St. Mary's 高，
20分係St. Francis' 差不多必入，
同區有20分都博Marymount or St. Paul's Catholic，
相比下St. Francis' 一向唔係呢區既首選。
而St. Mary's 20分卻要抽籤，15分都無咩機會。
日日去九龍太遠了，如果一定唔搬，
有20分港島區仲有好多選擇，如果你得15分，
跟本唔使煩，因為St. Mary's 機會非常之微。

I am an old girl of St. Mary's and has 20分,要抽籤。
others 名校only 15分, 無咩機會,所以咁先煩.

本來已打算唔用old girl 分,但好怕一陣抽得差會後悔。我又唔想入私校或直資,因為有妹妹跟住,怕妹妹考不上同一間小學,仲煩.
If Marymount and st. Mary's are both near to my home, I prefer st. Mary's to Marymount due to sentimental reasons.  But Marymount's location is much better than St. Mary's.

Alternative One:
pick St. Mary's with 20 marks to see whether I am lucky enough to enter St. Mary's. If succeed, then has to travel long way to school and end of story.

If fail, then pick Marymount on the next round, If succeed my husband will be very happy.  If fail, knock door Marymount, St. Mary's, St. Pauls, st. Francis.  Knock Marymount's door is as hard as St. Mary's.  My preference taking location into consideration is Marymount, St. Mary's, St. Paul's, St. Francis.  I think knock door St. Francis has a better chance.  So my caption is St. Mary's vs St. Francis.

Alternative Two:
my husband wants me to pick Marymount in all rounds, but cannot knock door St. Mary's if I did not pick St. Mary's in any round.  My husband is afraid that if St. Mary's accepts us in first round, then we cannot try Marymount in lucky draw.  But this is the rules of the game.
If fail all Marymount, St. Paul's, St. Francis in lucky draw and knock door stage, then I shall resort to private schools.   My 2 daughters may end up in different primary schools.

How big is the chance of getting into St. Mary's in 1st round with 20 marks?
How big is the chance of getting into Marymount in lucky draw within WanChai district?

点做呢?真係想不通.

一鳥在手勝過百鳥在林。
如果跟你先生話1st round 選MSS，
15分真係抽籤都無份喎。
如果首輪落空…
再考私校直資，多個保險，
妹妹方面暫時唔可以考慮太多，
因為連姊姊都未知點，攪掂一個先。
第二輪真係講命水，
抽獎真係無得計…. Marymount 係多人爭，
但如果有運都有機會既。
至於叩門，我唔想咁講…但有關係確實好有影響，
如果無人寫吓信，邊有咁容易入…得咁少位。
我仔學校係灣仔，有人住赤柱有人住將軍澳，
小朋友當然辛苦D，但我地返半日都好D 囉。
