有冇人收到根德園waiting list 取錄信?

今天開信箱, 嚇見根德園waiting list 取錄信, 因為好多家長話出年5月先會寄出。我心大心细,不知道應否比女兒讀，SC同樣收了女兒讀PM class。好多人話根德園今年派小一麻麻地，但學費比SC平一千元，怎辦?

I talked with a eductation professional, her son studied in SC, and her neice studied in Kenville.
actually i like sc more but my son was on waiting list, but kenville accepted him so i seeked her advice.

she said both kenville and SC are top kindergartens in Kln side( ranking ), but both can enter good private kindergartens, however, the most important is not that you are studying in SC or Kenville, is because how much efforts that the parents put on their kids, like sending them outside for other courses..; So her conclusion is :

either you send your kid to SC or Kenville, both needs to study more courses outside or you have to train up your kid up to higher standard, otherwise, he will lose the competitions among the applicants for primary schools.

SC- her son can enter a lot of famous private, but her son needs to work out a lot of papers at home( chinese/maths), because SC is not so strong it it.
however, she mentioned that her son's classmate also failed in a lot of interviews though he is studying in Sc..

Kenville- same concept. also need to send your kid to study English.

conclusion-- don't expect to enter very famous private primary schools without investment, it is no free lunch in the world. also, remember, there are over 600 graduated students from each school, does it mean that all can enter the same famous school?  
also, i heard a lot of comments that both school will complain to the parents that their children are not up to standard so schools asked parents to rush them up..  I think it is true, because they are famous and reputable schools, if the students are below standard, how can they maintain the quality, right?

Acamedic lerning like Phonics, English drama, ..
or interested courses-- swimming courses, drawing, .. I think different course has different function.
also, be aware that if you decide to have central allocation for primary schools, it doesn't matter which kindergarten your kid is studying. However, most of the parents, including myself, will consider sending him to study DSS or private primary schools, therefore i will let my son study in Kowloon tong, otherwise, i really don't want my son stay in the school bus for almost 1 hour, it will make him tired.

My feeling is same as you.  I really don't want my son to stay in school bus a long time.  But I have no choose.  I think to provide a good education for him is the most important.  That's way I prefer my son go to Kowloon Tong for study.

However, suddenly, I feel ..... what's a terrible real fact!  Kindergartens should be a first step and good environment for kids to start learning, but nowadays,...... The little kids need to rush up because of the famous and reputable of the kindergartens or win the % of DDS and private primany schools!!??? Why? What?

I think it depends on the expectation of the parents, eventhough in primary schools, teachers will discuss with the parents whose children got lower marks and asked them to rush up.. or work harder .. but some parents don't mind the marks , but on the other hand, some parents care a lot and put a lot of pressures on the children.

also-- conclusion is -- the parents should have cerntain expectation on their children, otherwise they may not consider Kenveille or SC, as all know that the academic level for both are high, comparing with other kindergartens.. so if the parents only want the kids to be happy , happy, don't send them to these 2 kindergartens.

我都收到佢地既取錄信呀,(係pm class) 都嚇左一嚇, 諗唔到咁快就可以有位補上, 都係叫我14/12交留位囉.. 但係, 而家又諗緊去唔去讀好.. 雖然佢真係出名, 但係, 我同個女去in既時候, 呢間學校俾我既 image唔係太好(當初佢係我唯一既選擇同埋首選), 所以, 我都放棄左架啦..

但係而家又收喎, 都唔知點算好.. 如果俾你地揀, 你地會揀york 定kent?

Who said the academic level of SN is higher than SC? i don't think it is true. If it is true, why do so many primary schools welcome SC students more than SN?
SN is also a good kindergarten, however, regarding the ranking in Kln tong, it must be lower than SC.
I think the reason why SN's English  better than Kenville is the fact that there are native speakers in SN, plus there is the phonic courses provided. However, a SN mom told me she didn't find her son has significant improvement on his English, therefore, she sent her son to outside Phonic course, after 1 month, her son's English has improved a lot, the case shows the English provided by SN is not guarantee. Therefore, i would prefer Kenville to SN because i still have to send my son to study English course outside.
another reason i won't select SN is because there are a lot of misc costs ... which needs the parents issue the cheque every month., for example, it charges $ 280 per month for snack fee, what will they eat ? only biscuit , or saugage, corn?? so i believe $ 14.00 per day is too expensive, i can buy a lunch box with $ 14.00.

死啦.. 岩岩睇清楚封信, 原來佢校車都要留位, 即係仲要俾多700幾蚊.. 咁點算呢? 可唔可以唔俾校車住, 第日真係會坐佢地既車, 先俾返架??

it is no need to pay the school bus deposit first, as i didn't pay yet..Kenville said we can pay later, i don't think it is so crowded... .

而家我都仲心大心細去唔去呢間讀, 因為佢in既時候, 我所遇到既老師, 俾我既感覺係.. "死啦, 如果我個女係俾佢教我就幣啦.. "本身我真係好鍾意好鍾意呢間架.. 自從in之後, 大打折扣.. 點算?

originally, i didn't put Kenville into my list, as SC is only my choice.
I sent my son for interview is only for an experience. However, when it accepted him and SC put him on waiting list, i got a lot of advices from my friends, and i got so many positive comments about Kenville, as before i was so subjective.
I will still wait for SC if any chance to get a seat finally. If not, i think it will not too bad to study in kenville, at least it has long years history and is reputable, i asked myself " how can a kindergarten survive for so many years but there are still a lot of parents love it and eager to send their children in ?
the fact shows that a lot of primary schools welcome the students from kenville..   also, if the fact shows all teachers are so bad as what we saw in the interview, i think there are lot of withdrawal from this schools finally.

I think it is better to secure a seat of Kenville, and you still have 1/2 year to observe which one is suitable for your beloved baby.

其實我都係等緊sc架.. 我個女都係waiting list, 如果sc收, 我應該就唔會諗其他野, 一定俾佢讀sc 囉..

同意你所講, 交左留位費先.. 俾多幾個月時間自己諗下..
