Kentville and SC （爸爸媽媽的職業）

由於之前有爸爸媽媽講，Kentville and SC 收生的其中一個因數係家長的職業，不如我地就做個統計呀

Kentville 收左你的小朋友：

我反而覺得會睇家長的母校, 不是全部原因,都佔部分
還有,希望大家不要太介懷
總之,幼稚園只是小朋友學者的開始, 其實,不是影響小學的主因吧

I agree. Kndergarten is just the beginning. However I don't really think the parents' school will affect the result. On the other hand, I think the job will have some effect.

Do you remember the application form of SC? You need to write which school you graduated from. What's the use of it? Will this be one of the matter they consider?

爸爸: 工程師, 媽媽: 會計師

爸爸: 荃灣某幼稚園, 媽媽: 深水土步某幼稚園

父母同一間小學, 父母同擁有碩士學位

小女暫時 interview 0左 7 間幼稚園, 除了尚未公佈結果之 SC, 協恩 外, 其餘 5 間(包括 根德園)都收佢(全是上午班).

冇信心考倒 協恩, 仲有 5-6 間要 interview !!

I think SC minds this more than KV,... as it also needs to state your secondary school.

認識一位媽媽, 往年她的女兒面試後, 曾分享她的經驗。她說她女兒是細女, 面試sc時表現很差, 自己也是普通職業, 她也打定輸數,唔收。但最後第一輪收了am，最後她自我分析入圍心得，可能因父母是名小學畢業。同時, 她申請了很多間幼稚園，比較下sc要填很多個人及家庭資料，父母, 其他小朋友的學校資料,也要填寫。申請表上填寫任何的資料, 及面試時選中/英文作答, 每一項都有可能是作收生的計分用。此是那位媽媽分享她的賽後心得, 未能作準。

When I filled in SC's application form, I was wondering why they required the applicant to state the primary and secondary school record.  What if I am a MBA/PHD graduate, how can I fill the form?  I think SC is not only concerned about the parent's background, but also the educational support from the grandparent to the second generation.  

20 - 30 years ago, how many parents were able to pay for such kind of famous kinder??  Most of us were going to the kinder nearby the house.  I don't think my parent even know Kentville!!


I think the screening process is more or less reply on the family background of the kid.

That is my opinion!

點解? 如果佢地知父母在名小學畢業, 小朋友入返名小學%高好多, 從而提升SC入名校命中率, 但又唔可以只問父母讀邊間小學O甘怪, 所以咪由大學問起law. :tongue:

i don't think it have any relation with parent's career and school, my husband and me also grandurated from a normal school, and my husband only work in a restaurant, but Kentville still accept my girl, so the kid's preformance is the main reason.
Also, we don't need to give any supporting document, how can they know what did you write is true or not?

Totally agree with Tiggger. That's the point!
We are talking about St. Catherine's not Kentville. Kentville is not that commercial and 'realistic' as St. Catherine's. Only St. Catherine's asks for parents' primary and secondary educations. It doesn't ask for parents' college education because it has no effect on the students' chances of getting into prestigious primary schools, esp those which enter the scoring system (points and lucky draw) -- LaSalle and MCS.
On the application form of St. Catherine's, it directly asks for parents' primary and secondary education, not 由大學問起.
