ESF & Nord Anglia 一問

朋友想讀國際學校，但身邊又無用家可以問，佢想了解ESF and Nord Anglia兩間學校的

1. 英文和中文教學，如兩者比重、中文程度
2. 教學方式

希望大家可以分享一下，謝謝！

ESF 行IB, inquiry-based. Nord Anglia 行English National Curriculum, 都係play-based但課程比較structured,上到中學先考IGCSE,再考IBDP(下兩年先開到Year 13).

中文，兩間都係按程度分班，最低班通常比外國人，最高一級同local都追得近，NAIS最高班中文用新加坡課本，ESF 我唔知，因為已經轉走了，但聽說也不淺。

我囡係n班時讀Victoria 的，之後ESF ，再NAIS. 唔可以話NAIS好過ESF,只係我個人喜歡小學時行English curriculum,比較structured,也方便去boarding school函接。

ESF also streamed the kids into Near-Native and Non-Native for Chinese. For Near Native, they also use Singaporean textbooks which is not easy in my view but not sure how they make use of the books. Dictation is two words / week (my daughter is in Y2) which I think can be increased a bit for Near - Native students.

For NAIS, class size from year 1 is 24.  Student mix is very international.  Around 40% westerners, 20%  -30% Asian and the rest HK/PRC.

depends on school, cwb, peak should be very mixed. while sjs is very local

其實九龍區的ESF多數也是本地或南亞籍學生，金頭髮的很少。

多亞洲人，大家會擔心student mix。當學校eg Peak, Glenealy有太多金頭髪時，部分港爸媽又會開始擔心學術成績不及多亞洲人嘅學校高，IB成績唔夠好... 真係長憂九十九

多金頭髮又會擔心小孩会比較wild,學術唔夠好。太多亞洲人又擔心太多虎，好似返l(ocal school.

Even at CWBS, it’s getting more and more local these days.  There are fewer Caucasians than in the previous years especially when there are more choices nearby.

呢個係真，又要中文好，又要多外國人，多外國人又擔心discipline......冇限loop.

知道自己的preference, 有什麼要取捨。always no prefect school for everyone.

What is the class size of esf primary in say Clearwater Bay and KJS? Is it really around 30? Many thanks (emoji)(emoji) and in terms of education quality, would NAIS be more structured and solid ?
