如何準備入讀國際班別

各位經驗家長:
小女今年9月入讀國際班,家庭母語是廣東話,係現時巳幫女女報讀公文式英文同請左私人老師補英文,仍然好擔心未能準確幫到個女,請問各位以上D方法做得岩唔岩呢?是否太遲.
請指教

I think most important is that your girl can feel free to communicate with other people in English.  She may join some English playgroups so that she can play and speak with other kids in English.

My boy (3 years old) talks to us in Cantonese at home but he speaks in English at school.   Kids learn languages easily in their early age.

My daugther every half day join english playgroups in her school,i'm not sure to commanicate with other kids speak english because her classmates are native,but her teacher is foreign,many people same you 'Kids learn languages very easily.'but i still very worry, is insufficient for my daughter.
I extremely like you giving me the opinion.

It is under myimpresions that the kids have to be able to speak/communicate English when they applied pre-school or kindy when they were 2 or 3 years old?  Isn't that a requirement by your daughter's school?  May I also know which international school your daughter is studying?  You may pm me.

thanks so much.  yes, canadian international school is my ideal one for the moment, but please kindly advise (sorry i really am not sure just yet), whether i should put my son into a english speaking pre-school when he is say, 2 years old and get ready for him to enter any international school in hong kong?

Hi Lorry and Ebeltang,

I talked to my boy in Cantonese since birth but my  helper talks to him in English.  He also watches English VCDs (Barney, Bob the Builder, Teletubbies..) everyday.  He joined English playgroups since 17 months.  
He is now studying in an international nursery.  No cantonese is allowed in the class and his classmates are from different countries.  I am still struggling whether I should put him in an international school or a local school.  I want him to read and write Chinese.

Thanks. me too. I am also struggling to decide whether to put my son in international school or local school!  Very hard to decide....but, the local school system really is not a goal for me!

ChelylMum good idea some choose 'international school with better chinese standard.'
you want your kids to read and write chinese,you can consider 'KUMOM' for chinese,they teaching mandarin to F.7
My daughter studying,aftertime mandarin silk is important.
Any person also have the good opinion.

thanks for sharing and your valued advice and I now know what to do.  May I ask why you turned down Canadian International School?  Is it because the location and you needed to move to Shatin thereafter?  My concern is whether you found anything bad about this school?  Thanks again.

Would you mind to tell me more about Shatin Junior school that is because we are considering to let our daughter study in one of international kindergartens and we are living in Shatin. At the beginning, we consider both THINK and SHATIN PRESCHOOL, but it make me crazy...pls help!!
Does Shatin Junior school provide pre-nursery/nursery?? fee?? location?? etc... all the things I want to know!!! Please..
