由中西區校網, 轉到東區校網, 學生之Banding會不會調整

我囝囝在學校的成績是Band 2, 雖然成績不錯, 但其他同學太勁，所以老師話佢是Band 2, 但我早已替他跨網到東區, 不知他在教署的banding 是否一樣屬於Band 2, 我想嘗試替他在東區選擇Band 1學校, 是否可行?

由中西區轉去東區, 其實banding不會差太遠, 只不過中西區較多英中, 如果隨機號碼好, band 2 生都有機會入英中, 但在東區, band 1生也有機會去中中, 中西區較多男校, 東區女校多, 男生大多要選男女校跟女生爭.

如果想入英中, 中西區和東區哪個機會較大呢? 昨日明報都有列出各區入英中的比率. 你怕Band 2生在中西區不能入英中, 那麼在東區又會好些嗎? 除非你住東區, 為了交通方便才這樣選擇. 入英中的機會率是基於該區的英中數目, 隨機號碼, 而學生banding是最要的決定因素.

如要改變banding, 最好方法不是轉區, 而是轉校, 去一間競爭性不大的學校, 你囝囝在學校的全級名次會提高, 因而由band 2 變 band 1.

我是住東區的, 因為囝囝每天都要坐35~40分鐘校車, 好辛苦, 加上其直屬中學一般, 所以轉回東區校網.

I agree with Sindy. According to my knowledge, there must be some adjustment between districts if your son apply transfer of district. Or otherwise, it would be more favourable to, for instance, a Band 1 student in Tuen Mun transferring to Kowloon Tong district as he can still keep Band 1 status. However, whether CW district Band2 student = Eastern district Band1 student, i have no idea. To place safe, better ask your school or EMB district office direct asap.

記得年前有同事提及其子由將軍澳轉回黃大仙,是要按其個人成績調整Banding,詳情則不大清楚.最好問清楚EMB分區,學校有時也作不得準.最好問到EMB你的兒子是什

係真的呀,每個學生有個分,每區平均分為三份丫麻,咁A區學生平均比B區叻,A區既band 1可能有六百分,band 2有五百分咁計,但B區學生既可能band 1先得五百分,咁去到A區,佢只可以歸入band 2

因我唔肯定,好似係咁上下呀,真係要賜教啦

I hope so. I just called EMB about the banding issue, the officer told me that EMB just divided all p.6 students into 3 levels. They don't have any banding at all. The banding is evaluated by schools and parents themselves according to their past records in school. He told me that it is quite difficult to judge my son's banding because of cross net.  Eventually, I cannot get any concrete answer.

It's not fair to your son.  For instance, my niece rank 60+ in her school and her school clearly told  them for rank 1 - 75, they are in Band 1 zone. So my niece can have adequate info to make choices. But for your son, you don't know whether he's still Band2 in Eastern District or can be upgraded to Band 1. I think you have to demand to speak to more senior officer in EMB to give a more clearer answer. Otherwise is it sufficient enough to appeal your case to 平機會 afterwards.(Of course not this moment as you have to spare your energy in this game first) You have to be more "aggressive" in speaking to EMB staff or otherwise they may 打官腔.

To prepare for the worst, can you be sure that at least your son is Band 2 in Eastern District. If yes, you have to assume your son is Band 2 in Eastern District and then make 30 choices. I am not familiar with these two districts. Is it true that generally speaking C&W district have higher academic standard than Eastern District. Hope other BK friends can help.

佢地咁答都得??我女果時係平機會比晒我女d分我睇的呀,佢地好清楚係邊區係幾分的(每區分band 1,2,3分數既cut-off score係幾多),佢地耍你的啦

咁唔怪得知d人咁怕跨區啦.

舊年基榮小學有三個成功跨區去皇仁,咁~~ 以個幾個舊學生名次,咁米知今年大約考差不多名次,就可以十拿九穏跨區囉.

我囝囝老師有quote個Example給我參考, 舊年有個學生成績是Band 1, 佢好似跨區去東區, 首選皇仁, 但是派到第二志願聖公會鄧肇堅中學亦都是Band 1. 我話皇仁應該唔屬於東區, 老師話可能記錯, 我就叫佢比 D建議我, 佢話唔熟悉東區學校,  好難評估. 叫我自己考慮清楚同屋企人商量, 我都唔知佢想講mud.

基本上每個學生係會分banding,不過只會係所屬之區域,例如係中西區,就只係中西區分3個banding,如果報跨區的話,佢地就會再跟果區既學生再排過,所以好難知道新既排名概況架
