各位Mame請給點意見，
我的大女兒有幸在銅鑼灣聖保祿幼稚園就，現時K 3。亦獲通知能在銅鑼灣聖保祿升小一，而大女兒很幸運獲拔萃女小學取錄小一，兩校同為私校，都有直資中學作後盾，如何選擇?
更甚我的小女兒本月將投考銅鑼灣聖保祿幼稚園 K1，我怕影響小女兒的取錄機會，故此事放在心裡很久，但事情總要解

The answer should be pretty clear, should it not?  

There may be other considerations (such as the "competitive" atmosphere within DGJS, etc) but I don't think that your fear of non-acceptance by SP kindergarten should play any part in your mind.  If SP does not accept your younger daughter, you think other KGs will not?

Hi marymame,

If I were you, I would register my elder daughter with both schools, and send a withdrawal letter to St. Paul's Convent after the K1 result is announced.

Your daughter must be very smart!!

I cannot offer any solid advice. But if I were you, I would also consider:
Whether DGS will accept the younger sister if the elder one studies there. If not, you may end up one daughter in DGS (Kowloon) and another in SPC (Causeway Bay). This will be a headache to me. If both my kids are of the same gender, I'll prefer them to study in the same school.

Personally, I liked SPC more. But DGS is better in academic.

好似DGS 成績好d，但冇保証收我細女，正如 SPC 冇保証一定收我細女入幼稚園一樣。
又唔知頂唔頂得順DGJS，我地係要搭地鐵巴士的普通人家，因對佢完全陌生。
SPC KINDER 3年，好開心，有D了解，同學好熟，家庭背景包羅萬有。
要拺唔係咁易。

My friend has two daughers, too.  The older one was in SPK kindy and the younger one studied in Kentville.  Both girls are in SPK Primary.  From this case, I'll say SPK does consider siblings.

我是SPK家長．

據我所聞DGJS應該比SPC讀得辛苦些，似乎週週都要Test．至於家庭背景問題，都可以想像得到是什麼回事，但既然妳囡囡可以考到，我想你們的家庭背景應該與其他成功考入的相差不遠吧！

我建議妳將考慮重點放於學業方面．至於細囡，其實兩間都沒有保證，似乎無需過早擔憂．

請問有否聽聞Causeway Bay St. Paul Kindergarten 的 K3 student 可以私底下考 Marymount Primary School & 跑馬地St. Paul’s Primary Catholic School (both are 津校)?

十幾個student考Marymount Primary School, 全部考入(應該不是1st round計分制下入)o

還聽聞跑馬地St. Paul’s Primary Catholic School小學只餘下十幾個位, 但據政府12網資料(2nd round)大約有70個位o

請問是否真的?

Marymount  & St Paul's Primary都是津校，SPK容許K3學生既在SPC留位，同時參加小一分配學位．（日後會否改變政策則是未知之數）

其他兩個問題則不太清楚．

DGS is really a dream school of a lot of mame so it's really difficult situation for you.

My opinion is that the decision really depends of your resource.  I mean whether you are a working mother or your working time is very flexible or their grandparents can help.  If so, DGS is also a good choice.

What do you mean by "special interview for the two schools"?  For DGJS all applicants are interviewed, regardless of what KG they go to.  No interview is "special".   Since DGJS is a private school, there is no so-called first or second round (unlike the gov't allocation system).

聞所未聞.

Marymount會對所有申請者都進行一次面試，除此之外，我囡囡就無任何特別面試了．

至於St Paul's Primary，由於我沒有申請，所以不太了解情況．

我囡個班都有兩個1st round入到Marymount，暫時佢地都係決定會讀Marymount.

I am sorry. I misunderstood CC Lam's question.  I now understand that he was asking about MSS and SPC.

Marymame: If you have sufficient confidence in your kid's ability then give DGJS a try.    There is no need to worry about family background, etc.  It is a myth that parents of DBS, DGS are rich or snobbish or extra-rich.    Some of them may be very "highly strung" about their kids' education/upbringing but that is a different thing from being materialistic/snobbish in the financial sense.    Parents of DGJS come from various types of background and I believe that the more varied the background, the better.

1. Whether your elder daughter choose for SPCS or DGJS I don't think it will affect your younger daughter's acceptance of K1.
2.Although it's not guaranteed that your younger daughter will also gain a place in DGJS (following her sister if you chose DGJS for her), it's also not a guarantee that SPCS primary will 100% accept her?
3. Choosing between DGJS or SPCS....if you simply based on overall standard, then I'm sure you have the answer already. Of course it would also depend on where you live etc. My ranking of top schools are simply DGS, Maryknoll,St Pauls Co-ed, and St Stephen's GIrls. I am talking about the OVERALL standard and not just the cream of the crop- the few top students of each school.

My daughter's classmate  申請St Paul's Primary, but no interview.

My daughter also 進行一次面試 at Marymount on 1st round. But only get 15 point can't get the quota.

其實我不太相信,是我同事講的(Her brother's daughter study at SPK)
我相信會有少許位 for 後備,但冇理由不跟政府的來行事(因為是津校)
