It is expensive but it works.
I bought it for my daughter, when she was 5 months old.  I was also consider for a long long time before buy it (few months).  But when I let her see the demo VCD, everytime she was very happy and smile when she was just 4-5 months old.  My husband was reject me for spending so much money when I talked to him.  But I said it is the golden time for BB's learning.  I said I will pay for it by myself even he is reject.  Because I am a career lady, only can play and take care my BB at night time.  So I want her to learn something when I cannot stay with her.
When she was 18 months old, she can say and sing from A to Z.  And she also can read over 200 English cards (the whole set English Card have about 500 cards).
it is not just turn on the TV for her.  Because BB cannot see more than 2 hours TV per day, but the whole morning and afternoon, I will ask the maid let BB listen the story CD and sing along CD etc.  It can create an English enviroment for her.  
My husband told me it worth when I bought it two months later.  Because he can feel BB was improved by day to day, he said he will pay the whole set money to me becaue he want to give this present for our daughter.

I also bought whole set DWE to my little Cherrie when she was 6 months. Although it's quite expensive, it's worth and works in condition that you need to spend much time to learn and play with your child!
My daughter knew A-Z, one to twenty when she was 18 months. She knew all the English cards (500 vocabularies) when she was 2 years old.Her english standard is much higher than chinese. She used to communicate and express her feeling in English every day. During K1 interviews, she answered all the questions in English even the teachers asked her in Cantonese! She gets the offer from Kentville and SC this year. I'm quite satisfied on her performance and I think DWE helps a lot!

Hi, I bought one set about $35,800. I didn't buy the whole set $4xxxx because it only missing the "Wide Eye set".  I can buy the Wide Eye set later when my daughter is 3 years old.

My daughter will be 2 years old in this month.  And she just get the place offer from St. Catherine International Kindergarten for next year's K1.

Disney美語世界 will provide the training course for your Phillipines or Indonaisa Maid (it's free).  I sent my maid to there and she will get the notes.  

Everyday I will select some CD and DVD and ask her to follow.  OF course, she will follow my instruction and she like to give those DVD and CD for BB because when BB listen the story or watching the TV, the maid will have free time (because BB will  not cry)!  When my BB was 1 year old, we start to let her read the book and play the english card.  I will choose what english cards for BB in that week and ask the maid play with her.  I just need to play the card with BB at night time, so I know she can read all the cards.

I'm not sure now, u can check with your fans that VCD + Books available in Singapore, around $100 per VCD+Books, full set available in the past.  then, it may be much more economic ar....

I have friend who working in Singapore is cheaper?? How big different in Singapore and HK.
$ 40,000 it' seems better pay for 1 year playgroup, piano/swimming/drawing class.

My son start when he is one month old.  At first, he only listen the Sing alone and see VCD (sing alone together with play alone).  After he is one, he start read the story book and view Basic ABC.

Please alert that baby is not recommended to watch TV until 3 years old! The intensive light and color change detrimentally affect their brain development!

Also, please note that it is the caregivers and not the TV who care your baby. There should be an english-speaking environment, just let baby watching TV alone is far far less effective.

There are actually many media for us, please don't just rely on the commercial marketing products, expensive means excellent? Only if you have plenty of money, you don't mind to pay more than its worth.

Pay more to save your free time, or compensate that you cannot be with your baby? I would say the most treasurable thing is to play and stay with our baby.

My son listener the CD after he is awake and at night time before sleep, about 0.5 hr per session.
He saw VCD when taking his congee, 2 times a day, about 0.5 hr each. I will read the story book with him after work, about 15 min and play cards for 15 min.  My son is now 17 month and start to use Disney when he was one month old.

LISTEN CD IN THE MORNING AND AFTERNOON- ABOUT 2 HRS. DURING WAKE UP OR PLAYING.
WATCHING DVD - ONE DVD IN THE MORNING (30 MINS), AND ONE DVD IN THE AFTERNOON (30 MINS).  PLAY CARDS - DEPENDS ON HER MOOD, SOMETIMES 10 MINUTES OR 30 MINUTES.

WHEN SHE WAS 15 MONTHS OLD, I WILL TELL THE STORY FOR HER BEFORE SLEEP (WITHOUT STORY BOOK).  WHEN MY FIRST TIME TELL HER THE CIRCUS SHOW STORY WITHOUT BOOK.  I WILL ASK HER WHAT CAN YOU SEE IN THE CIRCUS SHOW, SHE WILL THINK AND TELL ME MANY ANIMALS' NAME, EG. LION TIGER, BEARS, HORSES, HIPPOPOTAMUS...   I AM VERY SURPRISE THAT SHE CAN USE HER BRAIN TO IMAGINE SO MANY DIFFERENT ANIMALS.  WHEN SHE TOLD ME THE ANSWER AND GET MY RESPOND THAT SHE IS RIGHT, SHE FEEL VERY HAPPY AND CONFIDENCE.
