I think the shcool is quite well-rounded.  The teachers are friendly and the school is demanding.  What I mean by demanding is not just only academically, they also pay attention at good moral education, may be because they have religion!  But parents need to expect their children to spend time and money on musical trainning. otherwise, you will not be happy with the school.  They have very professional teachers and environment on musical trainning and they expect your effort in return!

I also want to know the standard of their English because it is a Chinese primary school.  I do not have any comparision but I personally think that their English is not easy.  If you children is from St. Catherine type of school...it is no problem at all as they have phonics teaching by native speaker.  But only one lesson per cycle.  I think their Maths is quite difficult!!

Their students are usually happy with the school but I think if your kids are VERY VERY active, it may not be a good choice.  I don't mean that they do not have enough extra-curricular activities but somehow I think they like all-rounded good kids.

My knowledge about the school is "on the skin".  Would someone also share your opinion ??

I gave up the offer in early Sept. this year, though it's a good school.  My main concern is my kid loves the existing school very much.  Besides, she is not interested in music.

我的女兒在宣道讀小一。學校的英文科是不用課本，所以家長是很難此較它和其他小學的英文程度。在最近的測驗，我在互聯網找尋其他學校的練習和試卷。我找到一些在SARS其間一部份小學放在互聯網的練習和試題。比較下，我覺得宣道深一點。

不過，我就希望學校可以用英語教常識。學生的英語科的能力強，只代表他們能應付中學和大學的英語教學。如果他們的日常知識只能用中文表達，將影響他們以英語和外國人交談的能力。

宣道是一所十分好的學校，所以我選了宣道。但是，宣道沒有PTA。如果對教學有意見，就缺乏一個Official的表達方法。

Kln. Tong School.

KTS teaches General Studies in English.  There're other comments regarding KTS and APS, cos. I could not make up my mind when I got the offer from APS.  

Luckily, I think I have already made a right choice.  Thanks those who have assisted me indeed.

Dear ChiChiPaPa,

I think PTA is a way to communicate with the school.  But I also found that there will be lots of politics and some school's PTA is a bit too powerful to affect the school's admin and may not have really good effect to students and parents.

But I think the school is quite open to any suggestion.  The Principal is quite friendly and open minded. During the school picnic, I saw some parents approached to the Principal and she is always willing to express her opinion.

Remember you should received notice on parents gathering on every Wed morning and Sunday morning when they have church meeting.  I heard they are pretty good. You may gain support and share experience with them.  I think that may be another way to communicate with the school and you may also reflect your opinion about the school!

Would you tell me where you may find the test paper of other school??  Thanks

It is true that, even if a school lacks an official channel of PTA, parents can still share their views through school activities and gatherings. I am not able to join the parents' gatherings on Wednesdays, but my wife will attend the next gathering on 1/12.

For papers of other schools, I used search engines to locate those papers but I did not record the links. Now I can only remember the links for six schools. I think that it is not appropriate to post them here. I shall pm them to you.

I have sent the links to you. Please check your pm. For the question of search engine, I guess that we have been trained to be experts in search engines so as to support our kid to do projects and homeworks.
