DBS waiting list

Hi,

請問近幾天有沒有小朋友收到DBS小學通知以後補生格被取錄?
我今早剛收通知.
為甚這麼迫近才通知呢?
是否很多考到,但不讀?
聽講General Studies (G.S.) 社會料是中文,又沒法文....好像古式教法.
不知是否很多人感到教法不好,所以改變不入讀.形成後備生都能被取錄!

我都是今早收到通知, 本來都沒有想過會收, 一心一意留在原校就讀, 現在反而心大心細, 幸好下星期先交學費, 可以再想多幾天, 但我相信今次有這麼多學位, 實有一小部份家長棄權, 其原因有很多, 我都不大清楚. 你的小朋友會升那一級?  我囝囝將會升P2, 你囝囝在那一間小學就讀, 是否是同一所學校呢?

我囝囝現讀這校也不差,英文水評也不錯,教學方式也很活動,只是沒有結龍中學.

聽聞DBS需籌款建宿舍,入讀不知會否向我們問取?

我兒子是讀St. Francis, 這間學校程度很好, 校風亦不錯, 但可惜跟你學校一樣沒有中學, 而今年派中的成績就真是不大好, 雖然有接近95%派往英中, 但派往名校如華仁等, 就越來越少了,  這樣情況真令人擔心. 而今次新小拔招生, 我校亦走了很多學生(尤其是名列前矛的), 聽說全校有100名學生會轉校, 是真是假? 但這個數字真令人吃驚.

我亦聽聞中學會興建宿舍, 但會不會問學生家長問取, 真不知道. 不過其實我最擔心是學校會不會問家長捐獻, 如果數目不是太大, 還可以的, 但數目大多怕自己負擔不起了.

最後, 你打算會不會讓你兒子入讀DBSPS呢?

其實派位也不錯，油天在油尖區都只是有二十個派華仁，但不是在那區的SFA也派到十個，比例上比油天多，還有二十多個派英華，其他也不差（可参考其網頁），而女仔還只得一個派BAND ONE中文中學，很多派上智，相信本區內和在九龍區私校中派位稱得上數一數二。
以我所知應沒有１００個轉校這麼多，有很多考得叻反而不轉校，因他們中學也會有很多好中學會收，而且他們個個都是精英，因該不會影響質數。

都聽聞有些考到DBS都最後決定不入讀,不知有甚麼因素..?急需聽取各位意見以作參考,因下星期便要註冊.希有回覆.

Dear Marco Mum,

My son is going to study in P.3 in DBSPD this September too.

For your reference, my son was also admitted to St. Francis and Kowloon Tong Alliance Primary School where he succeeded in their exams held in June/July.  However, I find that the school curriculum in DBSPD is most attractive and 'flexible' and I trust that this is good to a kid who can have more chance in exploring different aspects of interests besides the traditional academic requirements.

This is only my opinion.

DBS今次好像收了很多St. Francis and Kowloon Tong Alliance Primary School,是否大家教學一樣?

現時的課程好像與初推出的介紹不同:
中文較多(G.S., 聖經),
不會全面性以PTH代替中文科語言,
沒有法文.
可否給我一些DBS的好處資料.

I think each school should have its own characteristics.  Both SFA and APS should be good as shown in their results of the secondary school places allocation.  DBSPD is attractive because of the through-train system and of course the long tradition and .  That means all students can be promoted to DBS.   In fact, it is a new school and it needs time to prove whether the school can provide the best teaching and environment for the students.

As for DBSPD, I know that the GS is taught in English as the textbooks are in English.  If I remember it correctly, there would also be GS lessons in Chinese (about 1/4 of the curriculum).  Other parents please correct me if I am wrong.

As for French, only the students who take the internation class would have the French lesson, other would take Chinese.

As for the religious study, its should be ok if it is taught in Chinese as the subject should focus more on sharing and moral built up.    The religious study textbooks are in Chinese.

I hope the above would clarify some of your problems.

友人之子被取錄小一,巳收到勸捐信,內有三格可選擇,第一格(一萬元),第二格(三萬元);第三格(五萬元)!

我朋友的兒子也是將讀小一的，她說只收過籌款音樂會的信，你友人的信是否近日收的？

聽聞它向匯豐銀行低息借了一筆巨款擴建學校，可能年年要籌募款項，而且在中學其中一年要寄宿，暫定五千多元一個月，未知是否已計埋學費。
