各位媽媽👩 我雖然收到通知話小朋友成功通過 Y8 assessment tests,但係冇firm offer。焦慮中, Y8 係咪就算考到都未必入到架？

唔知佢哋多唔多人走呢？

唔知㗎，因為Y8係插班，要等3月尾交了明年留位費，才知道有幾多位收人，有時冇人走都唔奇，所以pass了都未必入到，平常心。Y7 mass intake 30+個位個年係最易，之後D兄弟姐妹又會用sibling priority 插入其他年級。

Hi, did you have the assessment in 2022?

原來Y8 咁棘手 ，我目測果日去assessments test Y8應該有大約70個小朋友。我哋又冇 priority咁真係好渺茫，心情更加忐忑

No, your son/daughter would be on Y8 waitlist, then if there weren't a place till November, they will send in an email to invite you to go for Y9 assessment,

Thanks for your reply :)However, u mean they will inform me about it in 2024 Nov? But I think the academic year will start in Jun 2024, right?

You will still be on the waitlist for Y8 even after the school year starts, because there might be a leaver at any time of the year in IS.  If by 11/2024 there is still no vacancy in Y8, admission will invite you to go for Y9 assessment in 1/2025.

Application fee is$3700.Assessment fee is $4000?
School will charge again for second assessment.
Pretty expensive.

If your child passed but didn’t get a place, there is no need to pay the assessment fee again.If your child failed and take the re assessment two years later, then you need to pay again the assessment fee but not the registration fee since you have registered your child in the system for the first time.

咁講即係如plan 中學由local 轉國際就唔好等小學畢業，讀完本地p5 就過去升y7

yes, if you wait till primary graduation in local school, you will need to join in Y8, which is very difficult as there are only very limited vacancies.

如果可以當然Y7入最好，例如Y7係GSIS由K1-Y13咁多年最易入的一年，識好多人由幼稚園到小學一直考都fail/waiting, 到Y7就入到了, Y8要等人走才有位，因為剛剛Y7已收滿。

又過咗大半個月啦繼續苦候中，唔知有冇媽媽已經收到喜訊呢？好想向學校詢問一下自己在waiting list實在排第幾個，唔知校方會唔會告知我哋架呢？
有冇家長都有問過學校呢？

始終要等到三月尾，leavers通知學校，聽聞原來舊年Y8得一個插班位。

Yes you can ask them, I asked and they told me we are in the middle. They wouldn’t tell you the exact number but will let you know if you are at the top middle or bottom.
