2017 UK A level sixth form

我女現在就讀倫敦南部女子寄宿中學，成績中等，她想sixth form轉男女校，現幫她搜集資料，打算直接apply, 根據Alevel 排名榜及guardian 推介，對以下學校有興趣：
Shrewsbury school
King's school Canterbury
Epsom college
Christ's hospital
Blundell school

我地打算申請 3 間，請問大家對以上學校有沒有認識，如中港生比例，設施，老師、上課、寄宿生活等情況，謝謝！

你先send email 問下學校幾時報名,幾時面試, 同埋有無年齡限制. 有d學校已經截止左2017 sixth form 報名,亦唔少學校只收適齡學生, i.e. 9/2000 - 8/2001 出生的學生.  同埋問埋幾時面試,好多學校都會選11月,, 仲要同一個weekend...

你提醒我添，大部份都系10／11月份test 同interview, 睇下有冇撞期先！仲有，学校要我女呢幾個月school visit, 然后pre-register, 但如在港申請，好似並不需要school visit ！

School visit可以順便安排面試， 阿女又可以睇下環境， 如果有時間又安排到， 睇下無防。

報多過一間係會好煩，當你報三間，分別在三個星期六面試都好麻煩，因為未必次次都可以即日來回。飛過英國陪亦煩，唔通留三星期。間間學校都會問原校要reference letter，所以都要問下原校肯出幾多封信。
俾我會情願佢多d時間留在學校溫書，好過頻頻撲樸四圍去。

我覺得一間起，最多都係報兩間好啦。

學校要求school visit 系呢2個月，而interview 就系10/11月，即要去兩轉，shrewsbury同blundell 都 好远，要2曰來回。guardian 好好佢会帶呀女去，但時间同金钱都幾重皮，或考虑wloi 嘅建议考2间，轉校真系好煩！

所以要問清楚仔女點解要轉校，同埋要有策略。

我女想轉個間學校，我問左學校，係參觀考試一日過，如果有得interview，我會飛過去。

我囡囡讀緊Shrewsbury sixth form College,係公立學校,今年九月入大學.
呢間學校前三年才開始收國際生,所以到現時為止都無幾多個Chinese student,
over 95%係本地生,老師照顧得特別好,但要住homestay, 因我囡要求住homestay,佢覺得boarding school過份被照顧,加上佢都過咗黎三年啦(前兩年),
所以想獨立d同埋想融入英國家庭了解多點文化,英文都可更進一步.
兩年都差不多過啦(讀埋6月考埋個A-Level), 對佢來講真係獲益良多,不過呢間唔係咩出名嘅學校,未必咁多家長會考慮

I can give some info about King's. There are around 30 HK/mainland students in sixth form with majority from hk. With a large boarding community, this is not a big %. Sixth form students are quite busy since King's emphasizes on extra-curriculum activities which is what King's about. The school is in the city center. The campus is centred around the world heritage Canterbury cathedral which is only accessible to the school and paid tourists. Sixth form boarding life includes parties organized by different houses to enhance social gathering. So it could be busy at King's.

I think Russell Group represents a group of universities, not high school.

Many college are Russell group like Didcot Sixth Form College, The Doncaster Collegiate Sixth
Form etc., ?唔知我有無攪錯?

Didcot 嘅Russell Group 似係精英班，幫學生入Russell Group 嘅大學。

Doncaster website 只係介紹乜嘢係Russell Group 大學。

The good ones with boarding and admits A-Level entrance that I know of are:Adams - boys and girls
Reading - boys
Royal Grammer School High Wycombe -boys
Colchester Royal Grammer School - boys
Lancaster Royal Grammer School - boys
Sir Roger - boys and girls
