I think you are comparing a top grade apple with a top grade orange.
UK degrees are subject specific. I think most of the courses of LSE Econ are related to Econ and there are only a few electives.
On the other hand, Columbia + Science Po is a liberal arts degree, right? Students still have the chance to explore what they want to study. I am not sure if the dual degree students need to complete the "core curriculum" of Columbia in the 1st year. This curriculum is very famous, but not enjoyed by everyone.
Have your daughter checked the courses and curriculum of both choices? She may be able to find the answer there.
Anyway, both are top grade universities.
