北角民生vs嶺南... 點揀好?

依家我09超細仔讀緊北角民生PN，黎緊要決定k1讀邊間... 有冇人知佢地派小邊間好d? 嶺南係咪一定直升嶺小? 嶺小又好唔好呢?

嶺南是不放棄母語教學才對
佢地日日都有NATIVE SPEAKING老師上堂,我個女K2,我地FAMILY平日零英語交流,但佢都100%聽得明英文 + 國語

雖然我阿女係讀緊北角民生，不過如果係我，k1會轉嶺南，話晒有小學backup.

我本來覺得嶺幼出名d，d人對佢口碑唔錯，加上佢之前唔收細仔，所以都算心儀。但佢依家開始收細仔，由寄信到in到取錄過程太快，令我對佢信心有d動搖...

而我又鍾意北角民生多英文，但好少人講呢間，所以決定唔到。

I highly recommend Lingnan as my kid is there from pre-nursery and now he is in K1

Good things:
1. Teachers and principal are very nice.  Even those teachers not teaching my kid, they know my kid's name.
2. They organise regular activities for kids (e.g. fun day that prepare lots of intersting games for kids), outing and parents day, workshop etc.
3. Language training is good (esp. Chinese).  Before joining pre-nursery, my kid knew nothing about chinese, not even speak in cantonese...after 3 months, he started picking a lot and now he is in K1 and we are surprised that he knows some Chinese vocab that are quite difficult for that age
4. Art and craft are very interesting and my kid likes keeping them at home

Bad things:
1. They will move to Siu Sai Wan in coming Sept and the campus is relatively small and the environment is not as good as the existing one
2. They are not "academic". In K1, kids only need to draw lines and no Chinese and English writing at all (I know some K1 starts writing alphabets and numbers)

而家收既,只係之前比人RELEASE左出黎既PM位吧. 其實間間都係呢個時候有位放出黎
LN係會收晒既,不過通常係PM,因為PM既師生比例比AM好,方便老師照顧較細學童.
我LIKE LINGNAN既家長都係好高質素,好多住附近, 小朋友又有教養.

嶺南畢業生大部份去直資/私立的,至於去邊間,大家都估到. (中西區,南區,ETC)
嶺幼學生去到小學亦不見得落後其他被谷過既小朋友. 我前秘書有2個仔去左聖士提反,細仔重係最TOP幾個.
嶺南家長多數係好低調,唔會出黎EK八卦的(我係個例外,哈哈)

btw, do you know if lots of kids go to st paul's co-ed, DBS and st paul's boys?

In terms of scale of school, I'll prefer Lingnam than Man Sang, though I'm a Man Sang PN parent and I do appreciate the efforts and passions of Man Sang.

另外上年比較多人入DGS,今年我未八到詳細資料.

as lots of lingnan parents are professional, not sure if this is one of the reasons those kids go to top 直資

有幫助,但非主要原因. 我見入好既PRIVATE,家長好多不是OLD GIRLS/OLD BOYS

多謝咁多位媽媽既意見，令我對LN既信心更加大。我稔我知點揀喇。

其實LN既校園點都比北角民生大，我估佢新校舍應該有操場(今個星期六先去參觀)，校舍大對我黎講都係優點。

多謝你呀。你講既壞處1，對我黎講算係好處，因為我住鰂魚涌，去小西灣應該比去司徒拔道方便。

咁你小朋友下年會唔會繼續讀LN呀?

I am still struggling whether to stay with LN or not as he has other offers.  But I really like LN as the teachers are so caring and he enjoys going there.  Last week after the new campus visit, he kept asking when he will go to the new school.  My worries is it takes a long travelling time and the highway seems dangerous and the campus is so small without outdoor playground.  A very difficult decision.....
