有冇2012年9月會讀聖若望幼稚園K1的小朋友家長?
您地知唔知道有冇得於開學前參觀校舍呢 ?  
若果要選上午或全日, 我希望可以了解多點學校後才決定.
這間學校向來不太多人認識, 希望大家入讀前可以交流下...

Yes, present!  My girl is going to K1 in 2012.  I like the small class size too and the medium of instruction is mostly English (except Chinese subjects).

我細女今年8月開始係SJC 讀K1! 因為大家姐而家讀緊K3 所以對SJC 教學模式好有信心! 如果想參觀校舍可以同Admin 姐姐約, I did that before I applied the school too.

SJC 比較低調, 你可以襯放校時間同D 家長傾下計!

agree!!  chewy, 你大女讀緊k3嗎 ?  會否上佢地小學呢 ?  
我未必會選擇升佢地小學（學費真係幾貴啊！）, 可能再出去考直資小學, 你知道SJC今年D畢業生考成點 ?　
overall, 我都好鍾意呢間學校, 只是佢地真的不太著重普通話! 但將來呢樣野都好重要, 好多小一都已經普教中喇 !  您地大家又點睇呀???

shck, PTH is important, but I still think English environment is more important.
I did not learn PTH in primary school, but now I can still speak fluent PTH, and everyday I work with people from Shanghai, having conference call with them.  

For PTH, I can my kid can catch up from the tutorial outside of school, but English environment is hard to find.  

It also depends on what you want, I want my girl to be able to manage both English and Cantonese first, because if we have too high expectation in learning all languages, kids may get confused and cannot think properly.  That is just my experience, I let my girl to go to Spanish playgroup twice a week, English playgroup once a week, ended up she got a little delay in speaking.  
So I want her to manage both English and Cantonese first.

shck, SJC 小学科中文係用普通話授課架!另外再有普通話課加強底子!我會俾我个女上佢他小學架!自係个人喜好,唔想煩周圍撲學校!我都承認學費太貴, 但校舍又日舊失修,設備不是比D新直資小學多!希望校方認直改善校舍!等D家長覺得值D!

K3 D同學有D都考到自己鐘意嘅直資 or 私立, 但我覺同間幼稚園冇關係!我見佢地出去報咗好多班&考試, 攞好多 cert and enrich their portfolio. 大部份係家長功勞!

Chewy, I mean I don't really care if PTH is strong or not in their kindergarten level.  I just want my girl to manage cantonese and English, that is good enough for me in KG.

For primary, then it is different story la!

manman0808- I totally understand your point of view. I found my girl's pick up chinese and PHT are not too bad. What I can say SJC is a v balance school! Not only English they will focus, even Chinese, PHT and Math.. Their courses are very intentive..

Hello, my girl also join SJC this year, just wonder what's the different between full day and half day except price, coz if full day just allow them sleep and not extra class or learning, i will be disappointed...

K1 kids still need nap time as it is better for their development.  I checked with the school, so after lunch and nap, they will do some activities then get off at 3pm.

Hi, my son is studying pre-nursery class in SJC starting from Sept last year and I decide to let him continue his K1 in SJC even he got offers from other kindgartens.  I appreciate his class teacher who is patient and sincere.  Sometimes she call me after school (not only at the early stage of the academic year) for discussing my son performance.  Now my son can communicate and talk to me well in both English & Cantonese.  I had asked the class teacher about the difference between AM and full day class and she explained that the kids will have lunch, one-hour nap time and do some activities (different theme for each day) and will help them to do homework before release for full day class.  Therefore the kids may not need to do homework at home.  We can choose for AM/full day class for K1, but full day class is complusory for K2 and K3.  When I walk around the school during the school time, I find the students are polite and obedient.  I agree it's better for my son to able to manage Cantonese and English first, or it may delay his speaking.  Hope the information is useful.

But I want to know what's the primary school will SJC K3 students will go to?  Can anyone share me? thanks.!

kiko2009, tks so much!! your sharing helps a lot! My daughter will study full day in k1, I like they could help the kids to finish their homework before release from school so I may get with her easier after daily work.

I am Aidan mama. I am sorry that I lost your mobile phone no. Can you call me? Is your daughter will go to school on 13.8.2012. Hope that she has a good development. My son will go to HKPS on 1.9.2012. Last two weeks, he joined the summer course in hkps. Though he said that he was happy and the teacher was nice, he still asked me when he would go back to SJC. He said he missed his class teacher and his classmates. I was so sad about this.
