Hi all,

My son, Keith, is in U3.  Class teachers are Ms Chiu and Ms Nicole.  School bus No. 13.

May I bother mmak to update my son's details in the list please?  Thank you!

My son is one of the lucky ones to get into the 2nd round of Ying Wa.  But there is still a long road ahead and we still need to count on luck.  If we cannot get a seat in the end, it doesn't matter whether we have gone as far as the 1st round or 2nd round.  It would even hurt more emotionally if we have gone to the 2nd round but fail in the end.  I have always been taking it easy during the whole P1 application process, but now I am starting to feel a bit nervous.  Gosh, this P1 application process is really testing ... I just hope that everything will be over soon.

I would go for DBS, then to KTS.  If I have to choose, I would give up SFA among the 3 because the work load in SFA is really really too much and difficult.  It may work against our kid's self-confidence if the kid cannot cope with it (I heard many stories about the parents using canes etc to force the kids to study and do homework at SFA, an SC kid failed in the first unseen dictation etc.).  

DBS has a secondary school to back up, a really good school also.  KTS has a strong focus on giftedness and the kids there seem to have a wide range of ECAs, not just focusing on sports or music.

Congratulations to Charlotte!!!  You will feel more relaxed in the coming interviews given that you have one offer in hand.  Well done!  Are you going to reward Charlotte with a little gift or a little trip to the Disneyland or something?

After this long-lasting ordeal, my son finally got admitted by Ying Wa from the waiting list queue.  Wooosh ... still sweating after this entire process.  Ying Wa is one of our dream schools!  Thank God for this opportunity.  My son and I have now learned and grown up more as a better person.  It was a good opportunity for me to teach my son how to stand up from "failures", learn to accept the truth but at the same time continue to have hope, never give up and try our best.  

We are still waiting for the result from DBS.  But we are happy enough to get a seat at Ying Wa.  We cannot ask for more.  If we get a seat at DBS, it will just be a distant dream comes true.  

Finally a happy Christmas for my entire family.  Thanks to Ying Wa Principal's Christmas present ... just in time :)

For those who have not got a seat at your dream school, don't give up (from the bottom of my heart!).  It is easy said than done, really ... cos' I have tried it.  But hope is still there.  We are a successful case which may be of some encouragement to those who are still waiting.  NEVER GIVE UP!  It may be a long battle until Sept next year.  So, relax a bit now and save more energy for the long haul.

Hi everyone,

Could anyone pls recommend a private Mandarin tutor?  

I have tried a few and still cannot find one who really suits us.  My son's current teacher is quite good in teaching.  BUT her attitude is poor with no manner.  She is quite snobbish which is making me uncomfortable.  I do not like her attitude because it may pass on to my son.

That is not for 普師會 although I have applied for Keith to get on stage again just to boost up his self-confidence.  Keith's current Mandarin teacher is teaching him Mandarin generally and I have asked her to practise the recitation with Keith in preparation for the 普師會 competition.  I feel that she is not really good with recitation training though.  I will however keep on hiring her until after the 普師會 competition.  Then, hopefully I can find one to replace her.

Will we see 蒑蒑 and you there again at 普師會 this year?

Wow, we had so much fun there at PlayTown last Sat.  My 5.5-year old son and 17-month old daughter enjoyed it sooo much.  Thank you 小熊媽咪 for your great suggestion!!!

Keith got the graduation photos today.  He said that 1 photo has been taken out for the graduation certificate.  That's why our kids only get 11 photos and not 12.
