Is it good? How much of the fee? I signed up for their seminar, do they have playgroup in different languages? Any mom has joined or is joining there now, pls share your experience.

i just had a trial class yesterday. The class lasted for 55min and costed $295. All future classes are of the same price and they need a 4-week deposit if you enroll.

if you are referring to the IM program (1-2 years), then they have ENG class and PTH class. I chose the ENG class.

the trial experience was quite interesting - kinderU learning is a different learning from normal playgroups. in kinderU you do not expect to learn social skills, physical development, but they really focus on intelligence training and revealing the "right-mind" potential. the classrooms and small and not colourfully-decorated, because they want to create a focus-environment for children to pay attention to the flash-card. also, i noticed that each class has limited no. of children (mine only have 4).

all in all quite interesting. so do encourage you to participate in the seminar and ask questions.

So, you meant they will only do flash cards for all 55 mins to the children?

I have bought a set of alphabet cards with pictures on both sides for $35 dollars. I have been doing these cards to my son for about 3 months. Lately, he can understand most of what I said and then I found out he knows all the cards already. If I ask him to pick banana, he can find the card for me, either by the picture or just the word. He is now 18 months.

Based on my case, if they do flash cards only, I can just do them myself at home, why I need to pay that much?
I am expecting playgroup to teach social skills, disciplines, etc that I can't do them myself though.

你想小朋友社交進步, 做下運動, kinderu 似乎唔係你杯茶. 他們不只玩flash cards, 有唱歌仔, 講故事. beetoy 形容的對的, only intelligent-focused.

i agree, seems that Mountainview has already achieved a lot of flashcard learning at home. (which is the main focus of KinderU education). i also did a bit of flashcard at home but believe my girl cannot recognise the word without the picture or the sound.

if you are looking for development social skills, singing, arts and crafts etc, you should really look somewhere else...!

Thanks beetoy, I guess kinderU is not what I am looking for. Is there any other playgroup you can recommend to me? I am looking for Cantonese or Mandarin playgroup.
Thanks a lot.

to be honest i am not very familiar with PGs and is still looking around. there are a lot of PGs in town. how old is your baby?

mine is 17 months and she is going to Notthingham in Kln Tong. They have no PTH there, only English.

you may want to inquire Tutortime, Learning Habitat and Victoria. They should have PTH and ENG at the same time. However these are all very famous schools and have long waitlists.

KinderU in Mongkok - good or not?

My son joins both KinderU(from 21 mos) and TutorTime(from 12 mos). I think KinderU is better. Because my son can learn a lot of difficult words, such as I saw a pretty giraff, a leaping zebra, a fierce lion, and even the words of Chinese. (My son has no interest to speak in Cantonese and Mandarin, but he can speak in School after guide by teachers. It's a little bit magic. Maybe the teachers always smile and attractive.) At home, maybe we only teach him the simple words only. But he can learn the adjective in KinderU so that he can describe the subject. For the discipine, it is also better than TutorTime. The kids always listen to the teacher. It just like a formal kindergarten. I think it is too free for the kids in Tutortime. And the activities are not so funny and creative when I have taken for 1 year. My son sometimes has a day dream in the class.

* I am attending RM class. I wonder how can the kids can learn those difficult vocabs thr RM ? Can anyone share more on this? Even the words are difficult, the most important issue is how to convey the messages to the kids..... Every parents may pick those difficult words as well by themselves.
*The qualities of teachers can have great differences. One of mine is very passionate. Another is just like a CD player...Simply distribute all the materials and tasks without caring the kids' responses. No offense.....

My son studies in Mongkok school. I feel that the teachers of Eng & PTH also teach with heart. Even the cleasing anuty is so kind. My son enjoys the class and isn't shy now.
