The comment was on CUHK unfairly requiring A Level students getting greater or equal than 95% for all AL subjects, i don't care how easy it is to get 90%.No such requirement from IB or DSE. That's why you can hardly see an AL student in the CUHKs medicine cohort. CUHK should not discriminate AL students with such high requirement, why not be like HKU, requirement is all A* and take a more holistic look at CV, PS, super curriculars, etc. These LOCAL AL students have every right for a place in HK universities cause they are subsidised by the govt. they are top caliber students as well. Why the disparity between CUHK and HKU in treating AL students.

My information referred to 2025 cohort. It seems that there is a big change in HKUST's scholarship policy for AL applicants then.

In 咗唔會再 in 第二次。冇聲氣可能係面試表現唔係特別好, 所以唔出 offer 住

姑勿論佢之前有冇報過，尼個確係一個幾鼓舞嘅case。

Information on HKUST admissions scholarship for students taking A Level inaccurate. The correct information should be:
5A*+   Full Tuition + Living Allowance of HKD60,000 per year, renewable for normative duration of study
4A*     Full Tuition per year, renewable for normative duration of study
3A*     Full Tuition, one-off

我覺得每個學制有不同嘅難度, 唔可以講邊個易邊個難. 以IB 為例, 學生要交4000字論文, 仲有做IA. 平時學校又要做assessment. 之後又要做CAS. 佢地唔係淨係考個試就算

Students scoring 90 percentile can get A* and those scoring 99 percentile can get a* too, but their abilities are quite different. That is why i say it is ridiculously easy to get a A* of 90 percentile by those with "just proper " and not " very hard" preparation.
香港一些2線直資每年都有10個8個考到4個A*, 一線直资像SPC SPCS 都有15-20人有4-5個A*.

幾十年前我考HKAL年代, 在香港AL 攞C or D, 考UKAL 通常可以攞Aor B. 幾十年後的今天, UK AL有既變化只係grade inflation.

有時唔能單單計%,可以攞到什麼grade, 也要看什麼人考, 因為他們對學習有不同的認真程度.

HKUST對4A*只係好一次性的20000+元獎學金, 5a*也只是40000+元一次性獎學金.

對dse and IB是不同的, based on 對不同學制不同難度的認知

有可能, 港大醫以往面試後未必出CO比ib生, 但大學早一日收到ib results, 如果想收你, 會打電話叫你再去見一面, 你去就收, 這是我孩子同學的經驗, cu見完就收co

無須用 discrimate /hate這些字, cu一直收ib多過A level ...

AI is right.  CU medi accepts taking the AL subjects within a 12-month period.  This, I would say, is an advantage over IB and DSE.


"Among the 4 AL subjects, at least 3 AL grades should be obtained (i.e. cashed in) within a 12-month period."
