墨爾文國際到底值不值得去

小朋友沒有外國護照，現在在VEO，但拿到了墨爾文的offer，其他國際學校都沒有拿到，糾結要不要去，有沒有家長指點一下呢，Thanks♪(･ω･)ﾉ

One student achieved a perfect score of 45 out of 45, while four others scored 43 out of 45.

More than one-third of the cohort attained 40 points or above.

28% of students received the bilingual diploma.

Our students achieved an average of over 6 points in Design Technology, Music, Physics, and Geography.

Over 70% of students earned two or above bonus points through the core programme (Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay).

因為而家大部份課室都係做緊小學嘅setting同裝修，同埋佢高中一班始終唔及小學一班咁多人，可能中學就要分 ...

其實國際學校中學好似大學咁，按科目去不同課室上堂，而且好多科都有分streams, 分完一group可能只有十幾個學生，反而art room/ canteen / 運動設施個啲可能影響大D。

But of course some students may look to move to more pretigious schools and Malvern did give them a good environment to prepare for future challenges.
但當然，有些學生可能希望進入更有名望的學校，而墨爾文確實為他們提供了一個良好的環境來應對未來的挑戰。

I have 2 friends who put their kids in Malvern since 2018 and they have sent their kids to UK already, while my son told me he has classmates switched schools to DBS and Harrow as well, which is understandable.

我有兩個朋友從 2018 年起就把孩子送到墨爾文學校，現在他們已經把孩子送到英國了，而我兒子告訴我，他有同學轉到了男拔萃和哈羅，這可以理解。

More, Malvern has many student led activities (including extra curicular activities) in which the teachers played only an assistant role and do encourage theie students to take up the leadship role in those activities. And each morning, students will need to go to their tutorial room to meet up with their assigned House Tutor, where students will meet and interact with different grade year students in the same house so they can learn from each other and I think that will benefit the students as well.
此外，墨爾文有許多學生主導的活動（包括課外活動），其中教師只扮演助手角色，並鼓勵學生在這些活動中發揮領導作用。每天早上，學生們都需要去輔導室與指定的會社導師會面，在那裡，學生們會與同一會社裡不同年級的學生見面和互動，這樣他們就可以互相學習，我相信這也會讓學生們受益。

My son is studying at Malvern and he loves the school and his classmates, to my understanding, they don't have a fixed classroom, instead, subject teachers owned the classroom and students have to walk to different classrooms to attend their classes and although there are 3 classes in his year (Class A, B & C with 24 students max in each class), I do think they do have enough classrooms. I have attended a few open days and understand they have more rooms on the top 2 floors and can use those areas when they have more high school students.
我兒子在墨爾文上學，他很喜歡這所學校和他的同學，據我所知，他們沒有固定的教室，而是科目老師擁有教室，學生必須走到不同的教室去上課，雖然他這一年有 3 個班（A、B 和 C 班，每個班最多 24 名學生），但我認為他們確實有足夠的教室。我參加過幾次開放日，了解到他們在頂兩層有更多的房間，當他們有更多的高中生時可以使用這些區域。

2022-23 IBDP Results

Malvern College Hong Kong’s first cohort of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students achieved outstanding results.
An impressive 50% scored 40 points or higher, with highest individual score of 44 points out of 45. The overall average score was 39.4 points, well above the world average of 30.24 points.

作為過度學校，我覺得呢間學校冇問題，讀得好嘅就有機會轉去 ...

作為新界區的新校，外籍人士比較少，英文平均水平差也不出奇。有時也是雞和蛋先的問題，新校未有成績很難吸引到好學生留下，但沒有好學生又很難出好成績，這也是很多新校的困局。作為新校其實IB 36約ESF平均成績都收貨了，如你所講當作過度學校也可以，始終有個靚校舍，好過好多商場學校了。

作為過度學校，我覺得呢間學校冇問題，讀得好嘅就有機會轉去間好啲嘅。始終管理同收生好影響一間學校，我對呢間學校呢方面有所保留。但只是個人意見，是從身邊有仔女響裏便讀嘅經驗同埋親身接觸過裏便嘅學生得出嚟嘅結論。這間學校的硬件是很好的，校舍新又大。老師資歷這方面我不清楚。但近年收的學生英文水準比較差，很多英文也不達標。

Malvern 2023年第一年考IB嘅成績的確亮麗，有39.4分，令好多家長有驚喜。但始終考生人數少，同埋學生唔係由小學讀上去。舊年好明顯考得冇咁好，所以佢特登話兩年平均38 分，如果你計返，今年只得36.6分。咁樣報我覺得有點取巧。一個唔熟悉學校嘅人就咁睇就覺得兩年38分平均分好高。但係如果你知道學校裏面嘅運作，你就清楚。姑且看佢今年考成點，如果今年都考得唔好，冇理由話三年平均分咁計啩，不停用第一年嘅好成績去拉分。

冇讀過這間，朋友子女讀，同我講的。知的不多，詳情問返有關用家。
冇咁唔好彩，讀LPC之前果間學校是非常好的。多謝關心！
