School wants to know it’s because whether they need extra resources to support your child or whether a child can learn in normal classroom setting. Also they normally assign certain # to take kids with needs.
If you think your child will be no different in academic learnings etc, you can consider let them find out more when he goes on interview. In the app form there is usually a field to provide additional information / medical / etc, just put it there very briefly.
If you decide to be so open and honest, then may as well tell them before you apply. NAIS should be able to tell you an answer without submitting fees. Not sure about ICS. Both are getting very popular so they can be very selective. Or depends if they “think” they have resources. Be prepared they will ask for your ST report or even more.
