由local school轉到IS, 請教

女兒來年會在local 英中升S2. 本來來年9月送女兒去英國讀Y9, 但因為疫情問題所以也考慮International呢個option,  由於一直只留意海外升學的資料 所以唔係好熟IS的行情，想請教：

1.         家住沙田區，附近有RC和ESF shatin
. 是否兩間都要排好耐呢？
2. 兩間有什麼主要分別呢 ?
3.請問有無家長子女中學轉去IS呢，可否分享經驗？謝謝

There are many other school offering British curriculum other than ESFs. How about Yew Chung International as Kowloon tong is not that far away. Or Nord Anglia, ICHK?

Invitation to admission is based on your priority of admission and  timestamp of your application.  You may want to check with SC and see if they admit students all year round.  I know that some parents would prefer to join the school at the beginnning of school year and some parents are more flexible as long as they can get in.  So you may want to check with SC directly.

早轉IS早適應吧，local 就算點搞，都是受制DSE個框，有幾好大家有目共睹。

決定左唔留local school了，我意思是在香港轉讀IB, 但唔會考igcse, 然後 y12 去uk讀Alevel. 不過呢個都只是後著，因為有d擔心女兒同了7年local curriculum不習慣IB, 當然唔希望佢要轉來轉去啦。

其實去英國讀A level 有好多選擇，有傳統學校，也有sixth form college. 通常就咁面試，睇吓你a level 想揀咩科，睇吓現在學校成績。就算你女兒繼續讀 local school, 只要英文學習無問題，去到英國讀a level 應該無問題。

但2020年其實都巳經開了學，你明年申請Y10，應該比較多位，因為多人出國，不過一join 了第二年Y11已經要考IGCSE.

Thank you for your reply. However there is no vacancy for SC Y9 in 2020. Do you know when would they usually list the vacancies available in the website please?

If your child is in S2, it is equivalent to ESF Y9.  If her english is good, I think you can try SC.  SC Y10-11 runs IGCSE curriculum, whereas RC is MYP.  RC school fees is higher than SC because it is a PIS school.  I think SC is a much more competitive learning environment than RC due to the demographics and family mix.  
IB teaching methodology is focus on inquiry based.  For ESF schools, since it is non-selective, as long as you meet their english level, you will be offered a place.  Children are free to choose iGCSE and IB subjects in Y10 and Y12 of and of course you need to meet a minimum standard of iGCSE level in order to take IBDP and the bar is not high and most students can achieve it.

ESF 係跟catchment zone, 如果住址喺沙田，係唔可以去KGV

請問ICHK，如果有外國PASSPORT，要CAPITAL FEE 及其他費用嗎？

但係如果無考igcse, 英國的中學用什麼準則來收A level生呢？

無問題，不過好睇少年人到時鍾唔鍾意轉。認識有孩子到英國升學轉A level, 因為覺得自己容易handle; 也識人到英國升學継續讀IBDP。

因為，如果唸住遲D先走，咁最好讀英制，，要預備考試，方便銜接。

很多學校就算IBDP也會考IGCSE的包括ESF, 應該冇問題。

因為，如果唸住遲D先走，咁最好讀英制，，要預備考試，方便銜接。

如果大學前都不出國，讀IB都無問題。
