MCS, SMCC, BPS, QES, YWG, SSGC,曾肇添 Vs 林護

My daughter is B1 and want to choose two schools from the above from 自行.  

Criteria for selection: academic first, then location and reputation.  Academically , I would focus on 5級或以上 - 4主科平均 (%) and 3大聯招.   Based on the available information above this forum, I have done some research for the past three years.  However, there are some schools that didn't provide some or all info.  

MCS -  only 3大聯招 ~ 51% to 55% (2017 - 2018) to 55%.  Can't compare if MCS is on par or better than QES / BPS.
SMCC - 3大聯招 54% (2017) 44% (2018);  5級或以上 - 4主科平均  48% (2017).  i was told that it dropped substantially to 20+%.  THIS IS A SUBSTANTIAL DROP if the info is correct.
SSGC - Not all info is available, is the school performance dropping?
曾肇添 - No info is given on 5級或以上 - 4主科平均

Any parents can fill up the missing info?  Can any give valuable comment on the ranking based on my criteria?

同意，去到1A中學，3大%外，似乎可以參考埋修讀乜科～～～

i think 56.9 % Big 3 U is out of 91.8% with jupas offer, so it shd be read as ard 50% overall students ??語言藝術o既o野~
我諗不用放太多精力研究3大, 3大都有門檻低o既科~

自主學習，反而我又喜歡，不太想學校谷及逼，相對很輕鬆。

fds 之前在ls n dbs, 印象中佢地話保護＄好金，舊生會捐唔少。anyway, 不過我都覺得是豐gim尤人，敢填就得

TST: Sorry no further info on CORE 4~but some extra info on 2018 (DSE):
53.1% - big 3 U  (12 MBBS, 3 LLB/mixed law degree)
80% -  8 U
5.6 % no offer

Interesting and quite suspicious, SMCC's rate for 3 big Us in 2018 was 44.37% Vs 56.9%.  44.37% appears to be more logical to me in terms of the trending while shevachevy can quote the break down.  Very interesting and suspicious!!

From school report, 87% went for degree courses, and 51% are 3 big U's. Which is ~44% overall.

I don't know where was his/her source (and the date of such info), I can only say mine is officially announced by SMCC (in December 2018) ~ 91.8% with jupas offer, by institution then:

HKU 23.1%
CUHK 20.5%
HKUST 13.3%
= 56.9%
OVERALL shd be 51% big 3?

Overall Category A subjects

I did the calculation of CORE 4 subjects, attaining 5 above by myself, average should be 41.43%

Thanks for your info.  The above info can be founded in EK by greenapple1093 though there are some minor differences:
40.9% Vs 40.8%
78.7% Vs 78.5%
37.7% Vs 37.4%

However, I want to have additional info for "4 cores subjects" - 4 or above and 5 or above.

但選MCS要好小心，建議在EK 搜尋有關的分享的帖，2011年開始，有個前輩冇記錯網名mcl1128，好多分享，分享好真、好豐富⋯⋯⋯學校風格十年冇變過，如果錯配便有以上負評，讀書氣氛不盛、老師hea教、又冇乜功課、又少默測考等等！

但到今天亞囡中二，我還未找到原因，DSE成績可以咁亮麗，神蹟一般的好成績，相對班囡的付出，咁讀咁玩法！

My daughter and I have already had preferences subjectively, in terms of freedom vs strict teaching style, location, travelling safety, travelling time, uniform style, availability of ECAs that she likes, etc.

Well, having said that I am comparing these two criteria in ranking the mentioned schools, I have not said that I will choose two schools for 自行 based on the analysis.  This is solely an analysis.  I just want to "concur" that my choices are prudent and right.


Using stock or security market as an analogy, I am not willing to take the risk to buy a security that its stock price is dropping or plunging.

2019: level 5 or above (5, 5* or 5**) in all subjects is 48.3% and that of level 4 or above is 84.9%.
2018 : level 5 or above (5, 5* or 5**) in all subjects is 40.9% and that of level 4 or above is 78.7%.
2017: level 5 or above (5, 5* or 5**) in all subjects is 37.7% and that of level 4 or above is 75.8%.

你想要的數據，我估好難有人俾到，除非你識校長
如果注重學術，讀書風氣，老師睇的緊，我諗要考慮林護，曾記，SMCC。SMCC雖然成績下滑，不過應該是一條龍之後，太多同學要補底而拖累，學校本身教學，讀書風氣，應該都有咁上下。

比較輕松又成績比較穩定的，可能要考慮MCS。

YWG近年成績不太理想，雖然搬回新校舍會改善生源，但是我覺得本身學校應該都不屬於push academic 果種，未必適合你。

SSGC今年進步大，不過之前不算突出，要再觀望。

BPS，QES唔熟悉，之前冇put on my list
