我女第3次面試已經完成，下個月知收生結果；我想聽下曾經讀過的校友、家長，可以講下在學校讀左2年的轉變。

因為要寄宿，更加想知多d，希望可以分享下

Thank you very much.
I learn from my friends that students from local schools are easier to catch up the DB curriculum.  But, students from international schools doing MYP will have pressure to cope with the differences. Hope he can manage.

Residential life is an important part of education offered by LPC.  Half of students there are from overseas.  Local students get to stay with them during weekends to learn from them, to bond, play, enjoy life and do all things together.  This is one of the important elements making LPC a unique and outstanding school here.  In fact, UWC's mission is to unite and integrate people from different cultures and ultimately achieve world peace (sort of).

Two of my classmates went to UWC (2x years ago). They eventually were admitted to Cambridge and Harvard respectively.

Some posts above has already made the points very well about UWC IB 課程及理念. And very true about these comments
3.對社會議題世界議題非常關注 equality, diversity 是經常討論。不是入去只是aim for IB results.


UWC want students to become a world citizen, with compassion to world issue and human nature.


One more point to add is your daughter must have very good self-discipline, time management and emotion management character because when local students transit from an "highly control and well planned from school and parents" environment to an almost "free" learning environment and totally different-culture international classmates, I saw many of them have faced difficulty or distress.


Hope your daughter would get admitted.

那當然了，海外UWC都要考到先得，由本地national committee 選每個College 派一至兩個（if selection process no change) LPC 就有commitment 收4成local。

讀得國際學校，樓主應該有能力一早放洋，我估只是唔想咁早。

如果有能力考，就去外國的 UWC 比較好。

祝你囡囡入到，同時媽媽也有心理準備囡囡也未必願個個星期回家住，學校有朋友有活動，同埋都忙嘅。我當年係約父母出來飲茶。

現在做了父母，係明白不捨得嘅。

其實學校是囡囡自發去揾，2nd in 的challenge day, 佢好開心 幾喜歡。 如果weekend可申請返屋企住宿就最好！

開眼界 系課程廣 ...

文化交流衝擊是令一個人迅速成長，就算是寄宿，本地生都有家可回，外國同學基本上暑假才可以回家，有些來之前，從來未聽過香港，都會千里迢迢來，希望有一個改變命運的機會。

Btw 本地生weekend 係可以申請回家，亦有人每星期返，視乎個別孩子，有時候是小朋友想多留校

I see thanks, good points ! This is what I expect for answers not those regular EK answers like “level不同” “UWC for sure”
