Does anyone know what it means by “second round interview group” for pre-reception?  My little one has been placed in that group. Does it mean there is probably no chance ? Thanks!!

Yes, he does. But that only helps in guaranteeing that he could have a chance to have interview.  I know a lot of candidates who don’t have c passports but also have chance to attend interview.

My son is studying at the Reception class.  Basically the assessment of pre-reception and reception is the same in the past few years.  1st part just let your kid play freely at playground and teachers would identify your kid and make observation.  Then one parent goes to the classroom and kids continue to play.  Then circle time and kids would sing and dance together.  Last part is picture story book reading time and teacher will ask questions about the story and pictures.  

As you may know the school is a play based school, I think if your kid is comparatively outgoing and talkative, that would be an advantage.  Besides, if your kid is willing to play with other kids, that would be another advantage.  

Please take it easy and we failed in pre-reception & succeeded in reception.

Thanks for the information! Seems non passport holders will only have chance if there is any space left from the first round, which seems unlikely ....

Sorry, not too sure. Last time we applied, we got interview letter.

They still haven’t started the first round interview. I think they need to see whether those kids are good enough to take up the place first, if not, they will have the second round? But just purely guess. I think you can call them and ask, they are pretty open for queries.
