If lucky enough to get into medical school in London and HK, what are the considerations ?

Do non local students have equal chance as locals when applying to specialty training program in UK, or is there a quota for non local students ?

聰明 - 喺香港讀醫, DSE, IB, GCE, top of the top
有前/錢途 - 不用多說
其他地方 - 各行業收入相差沒香港大.
鍾意醫科、做醫生，還是做醫生帶來的其他 - 兩樣都有.

我反而會問，點解想讀醫。喺hk,某程度上讀醫和成功、聰明、有前/錢途等劃上等號。但在其他地方就不一定。究竟孩子是鍾意醫科、做醫生，還是做醫生帶來的其他? 明白了，做家長的自然知道如何做。

如果本身已經在英國讀開書又適應，經濟又許可的話，大可按自己喜好決定。主要是生活方式的選擇。
不過話在香港讀醫，好難走出香港就有點言之尚早，略為武斷了。

如果小朋友想係英國讀，咪比佢去，之後見步行步。在香港讀醫，佢好難走出香港，佢將來都要在香港生活，這也是一個考慮。

多謝你的鼓勵,對父母而言是不容易的決擇,學費是香港的十多倍,人工是香港的一半,不過算是對小女多年來努力讀書的肯定!

如果多幾個朋友讀同一間U或同一科更好，因為他們可以互相幫忙。和香港比較，英國讀書是比較輕鬆，如經濟上許可，小朋友讀得開心，我也讚成在英國讀醫。之於畢業後的工作/移民的事，我想要見步行步，沒有人知道今後英國如何發展。

樓主的想法基本上是可以的，任何人只要有英國政府/公司招聘，做了幾年就有資格申 ...

其實囡囡好好彩，在英國生活得好開心，所以是她自己想在英國讀醫的。這一年多已認識了很多當地的朋友。

Admissions to CU Medicine

5c. Transfer to Medicine by existing medical students

Existing medical students can apply for transfer to Year 2, 3 or 4. Students are expected to have already covered the material taught in our earlier years. Our experience is that there may be major differences between medical schools in what is taught in the different years. These difficulties and other logistic problems mean that some overseas medical students have to transfer to our medicine programme one year below their current year of study.

The onus is on the student to supply sufficient information to facilitate a detailed assessment and comparison of curricula. As an indication, this material should contain at least 10 pages of detailed course and lecture descriptions. Applicants should have excellent academic results, and their ranking should be confirmed in a letter of reference from the Dean or equivalent authority of their medical school. Our Year 4 also starts in early July and some potential applicants leave it too late to complete the process before the year starts.
