CAIS 宣道國際學校，學習氣氛如何？因孩子是特別需要，謝

CAIS ( Lai Chi Kok) 宣道國際學校- 急問！謝謝各位
因為孩子是mix, 英文好、中文一般，成績好，但有ADHD and Aspergar ,原來讀本地學校，但應付不了太多默書及功課⋯雖然他可以自己做功課及溫書，但因此容易發脾氣⋯但冇其他國際學校有位⋯
1）老師會否很嚴謹？有愛心嗎？
2）學校是份很注重分數？
3）學術上會否很注重？
4）功課每天多少？例如：3年級
5）一連有多少考試？
6）每星期有多少默書、測驗？

No homework in prep.  They do writing in class.

They have got YR10-12(?) curriculum accredited by Alberta, and working towards accrediting for the remaining secondary grades so don't think Alberta will fade out unless students/parents opting for Alberta represents a minority which do not allow the school to effectively run Alberta.

Hi all, my boy was born in Dec 2015. May i know if i should apply prep 2020-21 ro 2021-22 for him? As i found that there is a mother mentioning she applied prep but got G1 offer...

This year the school is more focus on academic, however the teachers always emphasize to "try their best".  

Prep - no homework.  Teachers emphasize that kids at this age need to play.  The only homework may be to bring in something from home to do show and tell at school, plant something at home, do research with parents at home about a topic, and kids will do show and tell at school.  It's nothing formal.  Teachers basically want the kids to gain more 'experience' talking in front of a group, the material is really secondary.  My daughter was very scared and even cried initially, but the teacher always give her confidence and she is now able to speak confidently in front of her class by the end of the term.

我想問如果小學有local school插班去到 S 7, 會否有適應上的困難??包括課程上的適應和和小朋友間的相處??因為到底也是12歲的初中生了??

其實不是英文串字默書, 因為學生根本懂拼音自然不用死背死串, 反而是教靈活使用不同的英文生字,測試學生是否了解生字不同的意思及用法.
大約每兩星期便有生字練習/測驗。
至於中文,當然是默字,中文字寫多些默多些才有進步。

我不是CAIS家長，不過睇過一本介紹國際學校的書，CAIS自創校以來都是有功課測考，和重視紀律的。

Offers already given out in Dec, but you can still call the admission office to see if there is still available space.
