I would like to seek sharing regarding the followings please:
(1) I know that CKY is famous of giving children lots of opportunities for practising presentation, recital, participating in performance shows etc. I like these approach for stimulating child's interests, and training up their presentation skill, public speech etc. These are especially good for outspoken and active kids (heard that most CKY kids are outspoken and with confidence).
However, for shy and timid kids, will these in turn be a pressure for them making them tensed and dislike school lessons?
Or will the teachers be able to motivate even shy kids to get used to presentation / public speech?
Am a bit worrying that seeing other outspoken & bright kids' brave and active responses may make the shy kids even timid. (Of course understand that parents support and coaching are important)
(2) I understand that for local universities, there are thresholds for the route from non-Jupas (including from IB). Roughly what is the thresholds? e.g. 15%? 20% of total places of universities year 1 intake?
(3) If for some reasons (e.g. children characters or family situation), after year 10 (at CKY), upon taking the IGCSE, it was decided not to take IB or not to study aboard, are there any other local secondary schools in HK that are offering course for taking the GCE A level? (because after year 10 if not pursuing IB, there is no way to go back to DSE).
Many thanks in advance for sharing of any thought/ experience.
