聖保羅男女中學vs皇仁書院

我瞭解到聖保羅男女中學和皇仁書院是香港頂尖的兩所學府，如果並不打算讀IB課程，也忽略學費這一點不算，請問，這兩間中學還有什麼地方是有差異的呢？請問皇仁書院是不是比聖保羅男女中學的資源會少一些呢？因為經常可以在各類大型比賽中都可以看到聖保羅男女中學的身影，但是皇仁書院似乎並不熱衷於這些非學術類的比賽，比如辯論、演講、音樂、體育等。聖保羅男女中學的資源似乎特別充裕。而皇仁做為老牌名校到底有哪些優勢呢？

Year 1,2 = pre-clinical year
Year 3 = enrichment year - more flexible

港大和中大各出其謀招攬好學生

N年前啲舊生唔好講，若果你睇EK，
你都會發現基本上都係嗰堆學生去選擇呢幾間學校。
咁無理由入到A學校就會變成呆樣，
入咗B學校就會變成醒樣。
冇理由入到A學校就會刻苦耐勞，
入左B學校就會平步青雲不用勤勞。

In JSDC (the Junior Division of the HK Schools Debating Competition), SPCC won 1st in 2017 and two of students got "Top 10 Speakers".   Please note that SPCC joined "English as a First Language" competing with other international schools instead of "English as a Second Language" applied by many other prestigious local schools.


In fact, for all above debating competitions, all of them are competing with other International Schools except HK Bar Association.  This year, there was a clash with other tournaments.  The students had no choice but to appoint a Form 1 student to the tournament in HK Bar Association.  Obviously that round was lost.  It's very pity indeed because SPCC has already won many preliminary rounds including one of the strongest schools - DGS.


Regading the final round of Singtao 2017, 3 of SPCC students belong to "HK Debate Team".  You know how difficult to get into HK Debate Team because the team is formed with the students from other International Schools.  As such, the result was quite surprising.

是否包牙醫不清楚， 不過一定包括中大醫， 港大醫。
因為港大醫今屆沒有30位來自聖保羅男女的醫科生， 只有2x 位

Regarding English Debate Tournament, Singtao is not very important comparing to the following tournaments.  A national coach even refused to be an adjudicator in Singtao because some of other adjudicators were not qualified enough.  Having said that, SPCC students still got the first runner-up this year (in 2017) and the second runner-up last year (in 2016) in Singtao.  FYI, PLK school got championship in Singtao these two years but we seldom see their names in other tournaments.  


Some other renowned local or international debate tournaments as below.


WIDPSC = World Individual Debating and Public Speaking (International Debate Tournament)
(First of all, the students need to be selected through the audition into HK Debate Team.  You can check how many students coming from SPCC/DGS or other international schools in HK.  The students will get a "GLOBAL" ranking after WIDSPC.)
(In 2017, one of our students ranked 1st on HK Team and 17th in the World.)


JSDC = An important tournament for junior students, organised by HKSDC.

HKSDC = HK Schools' Debating and Public Speaking Community

HK Bar Association香港大律師公會 = SPCC won championship and best debaters in both Chinese and English in 2016. 馬道立 presented the trophy and took the picture with the students.

I am very shocked to hear that SPCC seldom receives awards in debate tournaments.


Apart from the debate competitions, the students also have won lots of awards in the following important global events.


MUN =Model United Nations (It includes the local one and also the global MUN competitions)  The students got "BEST Delegates".

Mock Trial = SPCC students also got medals/trophy this year. (You may refer to HK Mooting and Mock Trial Competition 2017)

Round Square = You can search it through google to know more. It's a global organisation for charity and many other global important issues the students worldwide need to care about.

Junior Individuals Public Speaking Championship - our students are awarded the first and the second at Impromptu Speaking.  


As I am not very familiar with Chinese Debate Tournament, I cannot provide you with more information.  However, I can see the students who got lots of awards through the school eclass (intranet) for Chinese Debate Tournament too.  

It is so unfair to all these students according to your misleading information. They have spent lots of time for tournaments for many rounds before getting into the finals.  Before the tournaments, they also have spent full days at prepping and doing tons of research with great effort and self initiative.  It's an undeniable fact that SPCC students have received plenty of awards in Chinese and English tournaments.

冇特別去培養啊，幼稚園時已經發现在記性同理解能力會比同齡小朋友好一些。順住他的優勢和愛好走，比較輕鬆，父母也不用太操心。都會擔心去到中學會不會是小蝦小將或是井底之蛙。勁人真的太多了。
