8級鋼琴對考中學有用還是投資其他樂器？

小女小三，打算今年考5級鋼琴和正在初學長笛。想問問大家意見，考完5級琴是否應投資時間去考其他樂器考到高級？因為再繼續考琴，就好難專注長笛或再學多樣樂器，畢竟時間同精力有限…
如果識精通其他樂器，但鋼琴只有5級，對考中學有冇幫忙？

小朋友喜歡哪個樂器便放多一點時，讓他自己揀。

將來去到某一位置、能輕易作出取捨就是孩子偏向的確定!
作為家長能做的只有好好的平衡、主次要分、資源集中!

鋼琴亦非完全被排擠、亦有許多學校有所需要, 當然實力要求更高!

Also i think that for brass, kids cannot start too early, mostly start at the age of 7 to 8.
But for woodwind, kids can start early, eg i know a boy who can achieve g8 flute in p3 since he has started in k3.
Moreover, brass makes more horrible sound in the first two yrs ( sounds like farting) when woodwind sounds much better for beginners(Both my kids do trumpet and Trombone so i understand ...)

Oh yes, her school has both wind band and orchestra. My girl only joined the wind band and she told me that for the woodwind, members are g8 and above. For brass, g6 or above is ok.

我們不奢望以鋼琴為特異功能入到理想中學，只希望可以在課外活動欄目裡面有那麼一兩分加就滿足了。

女的同學叻好多，有一個小六前已piano saxophone singing g8, 仲識彈guitar, 成績又級頭五，乒乓中國功夫又有奬，呢D真係才女。

上年我女報中學，佢p4時有g8 piano distinction, 校際有D頭三名獎，最後的music audition piano冇被選中作測試，反而被選中了級數較低的銅管作測試。後來取錄了，申請music scholarship也是憑著銅管獲得點點的scholarship. 我不知道其他學校的取向是否一樣。。

謝謝兩位意見！

I also agree that children don't spend enough time practising the instrument. My daughter prefers playing the flute more but seems she's not talented in flute( as I noticed that she tries so hard to control the tone and breathing). She can sight read quite well because she also plays the piano. She has a good piano teacher and to me and her, I think piano is easier than flute( as she has a good teacher and I also play the piano). However, it's difficult to find a good flute teacher ( it's been the third teacher already, touchwood this time the teacher seems alright).

I want her to join any kind of band so that she can enjoy playing music with others....never wish for being a professional.

She's still ok at this point. I will see how she's going after taking both exams. Have to consider if she can manage school too.
