請問ESF application 係咪according to 幾時報名黎call waiting? 我見有d post 話係會randomly pick... Please advise! Thx a lot

That could be the case. I remembered I applied on the first day of sept and was put on waiting list in the first round as we had no priority. Eventually we got called up for an interview in second round.

agreed, and that's why the date of submission is so important for being called unless you have very top priority and can be almost guaranteed an interview..

VVhuilee, you should be right, as I suddenly knew of the ESF deadline on 30Sep morning last year and on that same day filled up and submitted the online application form, with necessary documents submitted the following week in early Oct2015.  We got the interview letter late last year and got interviewed early this year, and now my daughter is studying there at Y1.  So it should be on a random basis for Y1 central application submissions.

Cental application  (9月1 至30 號 y1 & y7) 係用random no., 無分入表時間。
但如果你跌落waitlist就會跟入表時間排。
遲過9月30 同general admin一樣跟入表時間排。

I was on waiting list and received no invitation in Nov.. but the waiting list was sorted by submission date so it matters when they start calling the waiting list for interviews at a later time of the year.. this is what the staff told me! Anyway, no point for drilling, just call and ask if anyone want to know more. No one knows better than the staff

ESF doesn't send out Y1 interview invitations until late November. If the application date matters, then it would follow that only those who apply in early September will get invited, but this is clearly not the case.

Anyway, the Y1 & Y7 central application period of 1 to 30/Sep is already over so whoever applies now is General Admission and thus sorted by date received.

If you are applying for Y1 and did not submit your application by 30/Sep, then your application would be treated as General Admission.

The General Admission procedure is different from Y1 & Y7 Central Applications.

For General Admission, applications can be submitted at any time and so are sorted according to the date they are received.

Y1 & Y7 Central Applications can only be submitted from 1 to 30/Sep and are not sorted by their dates but by a random number assigned.
