ESF Late application arrangement

Hi- all

We submitted the late application (March 16) to Tsing Yin ESF kindergarten. However they arranged us to have the play visit in mid April.

Here's my questions,

1. I heard that even though the application was successful, they would not be able to offer me the seat at this point. More so like wait list. Is that true ? Any mama has experience?


2. I still don't know if IS will fit my girl well. Let's say it doesn't. Is it very difficult for IS students to switch back to local schools ? If so what year is the best to transfer?

3. How's the Chinese level in ESF kindergarten? How much Chinese a wk ?

Yes, because ESF kinder and ESF primary are two different organization. However, you may have higher chance to get the interview by RC or DC.

Chinese level in kinder is ZERO.  I put my kid to Chinese class once she get in ESF primary school.

冇錯。阿妹入到小學的話，阿哥立即跳到好前。但我當年都要等多年半大嗰個先有得in.

我睇番ESF個網喇, 原來有siblings讀繄ESF小學或中學, 另一位sibling 才有較高既priority位置架, 所以以我個case, 除非阿妹入到KJS, 否則哥哥一樣冇較高既priority. 中伏了, 哈哈, 唔緊要啦, 希望阿妹生性, 出年入ESF小學先幫哥哥啦.

哈哈，講到我好似好有計謀咁，其實我冇計劃架，有計劃晨早報咗TC啦，都係見步行步咋，等等等等了Abacus好久，上個月上網睇睇先知TC開。哥哥排KJS我都半放棄狀態，佢讀緊Think，原本以為冇中學，諗住到時搵唔到就早些送出國，但現在Think開中學，我又打消呢個念頭，都係見步行步啦，有就轉、冇就算，唔計得咁多。

我之前Abacus wait list，我同TC聯絡好，之後我send email問Abacus校長攞approval transfer file 去TC.

你之前小朋友都係on TY waitlist? 但上個星期我打去，她們話不用再interview, 只是send email 去表示想transfer 去TC,就等校長睇file, 之後等消息。

老實說，你女兒interview的表現，如果去報多人掙的ESF如TY and Abacus, 都幾蝕底。而家策略很好，報少人的TC, 吾洗同人爭入左先算，又可以帶契哥哥入KJS, 哥哥入了，又可以帶契番妹妹入。做人吾洗乜都最叻同人爭，有計謀就得。
原來你媽咪住東涌如果到時嫌遠，至多咪星一至五在婆婆處瞓囉。

其實我以前都住東涌架，住咗十幾年，我媽媽仍然住响度，可能住慣了，結婚後又常回娘家，感覺唔太遠。再者，有了細妹既成功，哥哥在KJS既waiting list可能縮短少少。細妹是12年12月b，今年8月被迫讀K2，好彩唔洗留班的話，辛苦阿妹一年，一年好快過，相信是值得既。

My situation was, keep on waitlist of TY for a year.  Recently received a letter fm ESF TC campus, mentioned I could change my application fm TY to TC, which may shortening the waiting time.  I called to office last week, they told me just need to send the email about transferring of our application and principle will check and read our file.  The staff said we don't need to hv an interview again since the places in TC are still available.  So far, I haven't heard any news from them.  May I know Which campus's offer did u get?

Yes yes, shall buy a cake to celebrate, I tried to inform my hubby but he still working, not yet read my message.  Perhaps, my kids wouldn't know what had happened and wonder whose birthday today, haha...

I originally think if my kid was accepted, we should be informed right away.  I saw another thread that interview done at WKS yesterday, offer was already sent today. If couldn't receive offer immediately, that means fail, I felt almost hopeless.

Honestly, I was so nervous that I couldn't sleep well and eat these two days
