It's newly opened this year.  Don't know any comments on this new preschool from current parents?  Say teachers, students, parents, school environment, teaching materials etc. Thanks!

That's what I am worrying about, if one from ISF kinder get rejected by the ISF primary, one will be in the middle of no where who may not be fit enough for either LS or IS.

What i mean is that since the number of applications is below expectation, the school may have taken in some kids which it may not be willing to carry to primary, unless the kids improve a lot in the preschool years, which gives parents false hope.

Also, the academy is never shy in rejecting siblings applications and and asking parents to deal with under performing kids.

The preschool has very unique curriculum and its atmosphere is very chinese. After 2 years, it would not be easy to fit into other schools, LS or IS, or to find a place in these schools.

I think you do know the school will assess in house and first round results will be ready by Nov in the K2 year, and I bet not many will get straight in and quite a lot will be kept on watch list. They will assess the quality of students applying to the academy foundation year to see how many to take from the watch list.

Of course, each of us take a bet, and I respect your decision. If you beleive your kid is in the better half of the kids in preschool, then there should be no worry.

It's much harder to get into isf academy if u don't get into the preschool, as u will face keen competition from the siblings and capital note holders. Chance definitely is higher if u get into pre school first, I can't see the risk of not getting into the academy is v high though it exists.

When is the first round for K1? I thought the interview starts in Nov?
And the application no., is it the last three digit?

There were 700 applications for K1 and K2 last year, which is much lower than the school's expectation.  It is about 3 kids competing for 1 space. So you may face the risk that quite a lot of the pre-school students will not get into primary. It is a far better strategy to apply at foundation year level at the primary school.

There is roughly 110 places, so 2.5:1 chance of getting in..... which isn't too bad i guess...

Hi pppwong, most parents of non pth speaking kids have this worry, but my friend whose kid in isf academy told me all kids can speak fluent pth in a v short period of time since joined, maybe 2 or 3 mths! So, think kids can do it! U can choose language for interview, we hv chosen English, fyi.

hi resiling, thank you for your sharing! since the preschool is quite new i couldn't gather much comments thus far. hence your sharing is most appreicated!
did you kid know mandarin before entering the school? my kid has not had much exposure to mandarin, so i dont know if he would settle in fine with the environment.
do they test the child's mandarin in the interview?

You mean you got reject letter, but subsequently got an offer? Many people declined offer in first round? IF so, is it because it is not guaranteed to primary?

I feel that teachers are v caring, she called me to talk about how's my son settling in the new environment since joined school, n we talked for quite long! Most kids can listen n speak in fluent pth, they also look smart n behaved. My son likes the school and I'm also v happy with the school so far!
