SIS vs DBSPD

仔仔現於SIS (新加坡國際學校）就讀PY2(K3)，但已收到DBS offer. 就快要同學校講升唔升P1,  到左要決定嘅時候⋯⋯煩請大家比D意見！

I believe both SIS and DBSPD are good schools with their own strengths and weaknesses, no one is inferior or superior than the other.  Every parent's expectation and every child's ability are different.  You should go with your gut feel.

同意，就算將來長大後，在社會中亦難免可能面對欺凌問題，倒不如讓小孩學會自己面對和解決。

不過bully呀，比人蝦真係度度可能有，無得避，吾係揀學校原因。

欺凌事件一定 Band 1 到 Band6 都有,  

昔日F1讀男校寄宿, 也曾發生「我爸是李剛」港英版,  被混血兒F3打完話佢爸係police CIP (鬼頭)

你估點?  問候返佢 「CIP就啱晒 識唔識咩叫做 瓷器撞罐瓦 雞蛋撞石頭」

Agree, 那些學者窮畢身精力作的研究，只為一個理想，一個答案，與搵錢全無關係，香港人和星加玻人比較講究功能性，實用性，作研究溫床的一級學府亦不多，出𣎴了Nobel prize也不出奇。

撇開兩間學校吾講，一個國家/城市要培養Nobel prize winners或者傑出科學家，需要比technical skills更重要的東西，可能係mentality，可能係理想的追求，需要溫飽好耐，吾係只追求一時剎那的成果的心態。
讀純科學，去到Nobel prize萬中無一，和讀business，medical，law....相比，收入不高，如果計較金錢回報，不會選走這條路。

有中年親戚幾年前去哈佛遊學，認識在哈記做細胞研究的的博士生，工作有意義，但生活非常清苦，掛念父母，但回不了國...當年金榜提名，拿獎學金到世界學府，現在舊同學很多發了，回來會如何，好悲情。

We also feel that SIS have high standard in English and PTH. 但我們考慮的不只是語文能力或學術水平。尤其是爸爸主要是考慮阿仔將來會是怎樣的人，所以會在open day 看看高年級的學生。可能是情意結嘅關係，爸爸始終中意DB仔多D...

You remind me. My friend (who came back to HK from Australia)is now regret to send her son to DBSPD because she noticed her son's english level is not as good as before(he is about 10).May switch to international school later.

after switching to DBS, pls don't return to SIS [ you can just because your husband is a SING citizen] cos' doing so would mean your son will suffer yet another switch... but I think it is highly likely you will switch back to SIS, cos' you can't bear your son's English and PTH's standard has dropped that much ~~
