For IGCSE, what's the difference to choose lst language or 2nd language of Chinese?

If I choose 1st language, will this affect my son's application for oversea school?

I agree with Annie40. It's how much your son will learn in those 2 years that matters more than the final grade, assuming your son won't get too low a grade. I think other subjects are more relevant to his overseas university application.

IGCSE的1st 和 2nd Language Chinese 的課程程度是相差極大的。如果孩子有不錯的中文程度，念1st language 才可多學點中文，受鞭策而進步。雖然拿2nd language 的A star是容易多，卻浪費兩年的學習期，不化算呢！

海外大學對IGCSE成績並不重視，中文科1st language 成績只要不太差，影響整體成績單的觀感，便沒大問題了。

相對高中以后的公開試，,IGCSE是小兒科，用心做好學好，從過程中學習到的經驗比成績結果更實際，對日後大有禆益。
