唉！開學了個幾月，阿囡話英文退步了！

主要係校內高班強國人數太多，口音被影響了！重有成2年要捱過，怎麼辦！So sad!所以隔山買牛，千萬𣎴要䀆信agent!

This is common. My children play with more Asian in school, but they speak in English. They watch local TV and films without any problem. Certainly, you cannot expect that their English would be as good as locals if you still want them to speak in Cantonese.

I am agreed with you.  I always encourage my DD to be open minded and take opportunity to communicate with their social life.  I think it would improve later as this is their first year.  They can make friends with local as my husband also said it needs to take time.

Sending them to UK is not only for English, but also to observe and learn real life, to enrich one's experience.

My dd is at sixth form and it is her first year in UK. Almost half of the boarders in the sixth form college are Chinese (mainland & HK).

As I have mentioned, it's a matter of attitude. Some of the HK boarders tend to stick to the Chinese. Even DD invited them to join the mix culture groups, they simply declined. I always remind my girl to be open minded. I'm so glad she can do it. And she is happy to know all these foreign friends who are going to face the challenge of entering the universities with her together. This is a precious experience.

I agree that if kids go to Year 7 or earlier, it would be easy to make friends closely to local bristish students.  Like my daughter she is now year 10, went to UK boarding school this September.  She told that local students have already had their frienship circle.  My DD goes with HK Students during lunch time, boarding house, or even sports.  UK Students are friendly to my DD during class, I means only in class activities not going out very closely.  There are around 700 students in school, only 16 HK students (no mainlander).  English must be better than in HK in term of Speaking, writing giving her the English environment in class, to lab. for science or doing drama.  


I do not worried about her English so far as long as she will be staying for many years in UK.  If only goes for Unversity, I think she would not be able to enjoy her boarding school life.

上年10月，有代表來了香港做面試！佢係最快出offer的學校，早過晒AA那些名校周那些！

以我所知, 呢間學校好難入喎, 成績要求好高. 其實我都幫我囡報過, agent 都提過 ...

入學試可在香港考，在港 Skype interview。今年六月仍有九月份的學額，但收生成績有要求，不會濫收。

初期加入，沒錯是有適應期，但只要積極點，其實她們是沒所謂的。講下功課、扮靚、活動心得，什麼都可以傾一餐，就算初初未能全程參與，但多傾幾次，便漸漸熟，我囡的 local friends 都是這樣識的。這次她回來，說一定會買些小手信給 day school 啲 friends，因為她們知道她 term break 可以返屋企，都好開心！

以我所知, 呢間學校好難入喎, 成績要求好高. 其實我都幫我囡報過, agent 都提過呢間學校高年級好多好多中國學生, 不過都係成績幾好既. 仲話Roxxxxn 要求我地要親自去到學校當地考試添. 我見咁痳煩結果無繼續搞了. 想問問你當時駛吾駛親身過英國interview ?

唔好話你女個度的班根本就係小本地人讀, 就算同班多本地人, 好多都係會自動分開,
就好似 我地唔想同 強國人坐, 人地本地生都唔一定想同華人坐咁解。


所以之前有d 媽咪都講過, 通常 Year 7 過去讀的就易融入好多。


我女今年在英國讀第二年了, 佢話上課堂時, 都會同d 本地同學傾下, 但都只係好表面的,
下課/小息/午餐...佢地華人都係會埋番堆, 因為亞女話, 始終同本地生有隔膜,
寄宿生都係會同番寄宿生玩,
大家都唔打算發展成 "好朋友", 普通堂上的表面 HI / bye 之類的就完全無問題。

All depend on your daughter's attitude. Some girls I know from the same school, same level, do not have the same problem. If she keeps close contact with local students during day time, she will not lose her English ability this easy.

好看學校收生及選科,亞大果間約1350人,外地生得100左右,一樣有開了Pre-Alevel,亞大果組得佢是黃皮膚,住homestay幫倒佢學英語.

其實間學校有點怪現象，佢地Y11或以下是很少很少黃皮膚的，但近這一兩年新開了Pre-Alevel，就主要收了很多英文較弱的強國人（我比按金時唔知，係我不小心），Sixth form 的boarding local 少過五隻手指。有個House有5x個中國人包括幾個香港人。感覺本地的，讀完Y11走了很多！

何況知 人數比例? 即係強國人所佔大約比例? 無計, 強國人而家鐘意出國, 英國間間都收好多強國人,
我朋友個仔在英讀大學, 又係話一半以上都係華人。
