Could current/ex-West Island parents share your view on WIS?  Anything would be helpful.  
I would like to know your personal views/experiences on this school.  No right or wrong, just sharing. Thanks.

Note - I know ESF, I have read in details the websites of ESF and WIS.  I know the basis of their curriculum. I know their IBDP results.  So no need to repeat here.

Wondering which primary school were the ISF parent talking about, since West Island is a secondary school...

I think in HK, no matter which IS one attends, it is inevitable to have some local parents trying to use pushy strategies for their kids. It's the same even when we live aboard in other countries with Chinese parents... (and funny this comment is from an ISF parent, since ISF has some of the most pushy Chinese parents, from what i heard).

Thanks Annie40.     What about Year 9-11?  Do they use appropriate text books for IGCSE? Is the teaching at school enough for students to go for GCE? or need private tutoring 補習 outside to achieve better GCE results?  These are my biggest concerns.  

I have seen negative comments (below) from another parent of ESF but those are for Primary+Middle school.  Her last comment "...many bright students underachieve..." concern me significantly.  Don't understand why the case???

Negative comments from a parent in another topic :
Disadvantages--non-selective (apart from English)
                        --higher turnover rate of teachers
                        --not academically focused
                        --many local parents with tradition strategy/studying method
                        --many students with special needs
                        --need to pay extra-curricular activities
                        --many bright students underachieve

聽聞是兩年后要重建校舍，街坊話唔想將來幾年在九龍上課，因此出現預早升中的逃潮。

上網有學校的annual report.可以用作參考。

個人見解是：
1)多項運動非常出色。不用篩選，肯玩就入校隊了。港隊學生不少。
2）中文比其他ESF的水平低。
3）低年級往外補習的學生比較少。高年級的較多
4）不少家長在港大工作，開家長會總遇上幾位Dean和很多教授，講師。
5) 學生不算勤力，家長好似無甘著緊成績。讀得好否，靠自己。
6）也有儍儍下去飲酒吸毒的孩子，基本唔系壞，無聊兼反叛居多。
7）老師們大致関係和諧，
8) 同學間未聽到嚴重的bully 事件
9）校長精明勤力，像企業CEO多一點。

因為Island要搬校，不少唔想去九龍返學的，會轉入West island , South Island。
