May be you can ask yourself, what is "average height". The younger generation is generally much taller than their parents. I think the norm now for high school kids is 180cm for boys and 170cm for girls. Older doctors (40+ of age) are not tall. Some are even the skinny nerdy type.The younger generation is generally very different. Some of the high school kids that do well academically are also sporty and outgoing. So that may be why they are generally taller. I think that is statistics rather than a preference. May be more med students are taller (than 10 years ago). Not that med school prefer tall students. Make sense?
