There are 3 science lessons, 1 history lessson and 1 geography lesson  a week on year 2 time-table.
At year one they had learnt solar system (science), they learnt some history about first man step on moon.  They learnt health and hygiene , food of different taste (science) then they were taught some place about lack of water, dirty water, etc. (geography) Story about Nightingale (history).
There are six curriculum theme in one school year, they learn on a thematic approach.

Hi all,

I have applied for year 3 for 2015-16. It would be very appreciated if any current Year 2 parents can let me know some details of the school:

On the website, they said they offer subjects including Science, History and Geography. I wonder how many lessons they have for these subjects every week. Also what kind of history are they teaching? Is it world history or UK history?

Also, on average, how many visits/outings do they arrange every month?

And there are textbooks for Maths and Chinese. And we have to buy them?

Dont know much about year one, from my experience, no need very fluent PTH becos they will start from very basic pin yin in the first term.

Thanks for your reply :) he will go to year 1 in 2015 sept. Heard from school that the teacher will assess the kids and assign them into the two groups.

So do you have any ideas how good their mandarin needs to be in order to get into the regular class please? Thanks!

year 1 or year 2 your son will go?
for year 2, they will have an assessment for all students and then give you advise.
At the end, it is your own choice to alternative Chinese or Regular Chinese.

Anyone knows if there are any students are allocated to the regular class with little mandarin (he has mandarin classes at school for 20mins everyday only. Can speak n understand very limited mandarin) so definitely not as good as kids who are from eng mandarin kindergartens...

wow! your boy had already read her books.
Heard that teachers will introduce Julia Donaldson's book to year 2 students,
and they had read "Stick Man" before they go to the show.

我主要都是想她多做練習，她未學會自動自覺，以前幼稚園每天有功課，現在沒有功課，有點擔心她會越來越懶散，想找個地方有人看管她做下練習
