Well, I have two children myself, they're both studying in Net 12 with band 1 secondary, but I can't represent other parents to share how parents tactically do in general. But I can share my experience and overall observation about children's performance. It varies even in P5/6, especially in upper primary because everyone is fighting for S1 placement. Towards higher grade, the ranking can vary signifcantly, because those at below average, they can anytime outperform their usual, and achieve significant advancement in ranking. While at the top, they don't give in because the competition could be measured at around less than 0.4 mark for one advance ranking. Definitely P3 is not a benchmark yet. If you have elder children, then you may know at upper primary, a child's understanding in each subject becomes more challenging than in lower primary, i.e. not just competing with making less careless mistakes, better handwriting etc, they really have to have more than adequate understanding, accuracy, speed, certain creative in writing, exam skills etc. in each subject, in order to do well. In short, what I meant is those not performing good in lower primary doesn't mean they won't do well in upper primary. It is however quite true that the top tier (` 10-15%) can stay at the top rather solidly.
Back to what I have mentioned, no matter what kind of ECA or interview skills Hennessy students are good at , the fact doesn't change, their students have at least one more chance than other students to be admitted to QC, that's how the associated schools system work, right?
