英基7尖子IGCSE奪佳績

劍橋大學國際考試委員會公佈劍橋IGCSE（國際普通中學教育文憑）考試得獎名單，七名英基學生成為全球尖子，主要在中文或數學科考獲全球最高分。其中兩名尖子更是「越級」挑戰，提前一年第十班應考也創佳績。

五科目獲全球最高分

英基昨日公佈，去年6月舉行的劍橋IGCSE考試的尖子名單揭盅，港島中學有四名學生獲全球最高分，英皇佐治五世學校、沙田學院及西島中學各有一人獲此殊榮。當中三人在中文（第一語言）科獲最高分，其他學生則各在中文（外語）、附加數學、國際數學及戲劇科獲最高分。

學生一般在第十一班應考劍橋IGCSE考試，而港島中學的姚俊儒和陳彥琳就越級挑戰，第十班就應考，在中文（第一語言）科獲得全球最高分。

英皇佐治五世學校的Narumi Wong在附加數學科全球最高分外，同時在經濟科全港最高分，一共取得11個A*。她的學習心得是定下非常高的目標，再下盡苦功達標，但必須有學習動力和對科目有興趣。在國際數學科考獲全球最高分的西島中學羅永彥說，掌握出題趨勢及答題要求是高分關鍵。

連同Narumi Wong，英基另外有五名學生考獲全港最高分，科目包括英語（第一語言）、世界文學、綜合外學及中文（外語）。

另有兩名英基生在日語及德語考獲優異獎。英基今屆約千名學生共參加8,000多場劍橋IGCSE考試，56%取得A*或A級，94%取得A*至C級。

IGCSE考試是中五程度的英國會考，學生其後一般會投考國際文憑（IB）或英國大學預科（GCE A-Level）。

我只是見有人討論gcse的深淺，想講銜接A-level有存在問題，我不是想説他們不好，只是覺得gcse有時會誤導了學生本身，上到a-level才覺得吃力。或者我離了題，令你誤會了，不好意思。

Yes there were some discussions in the UK about replacing GCSE with "I-Levels" (I for intermediate), essentially that is going back to GCE O-Levels because GCSE was considered too easy, and when too many candidates could get A* it no longer means much.
