Most IS don't teach Cantonese in school. But they start to pay more attention to Mandarin now.

The editor is outdated. He should have done more research on the Chinese teaching offered by IS now before writing up the article. I thought that HKET should have better quality reporters than Apple Daily.

The problem is the editor had some problem on his view.

Both PTH and English language study together at IS now.
May be the editor study in LS only.

如果你過去十年在金融界打滾，你會目到巨大的變化。聽其他家長在跨國law firms 及management consulting firms 做事，中國市場令這些機構的人力資源及其策略起着無比的變化。過去十年在中環地區，說普通話的人越來越多(特別在高級食府和酒店會議廳)。

呢d好睇學校課程和父母取態。

如果你讀好重視中文的IS，應該達到functional的水平。

有親友，明明華人，但卑視自己身份，在家只講英文，講起任何與中國有關既野，都講d好矮化的評論，咁小朋友自自然就吾鍾意中文，簡直有點羞恥咁樣，中文咁點會好。

我教過一個耀中學生中文，當時這位小朋友11歲，她從幼稚園開始讀yc,基本上她的中文跟得上LS。
我相信IS學生中文未必一定差～個別差異頗大～
