U applied already when u were pregnant?  Ask the office again on when they will start interviews, they may not have started

I know a kid currently studying PG there that the intake/interview was started in Jan and got the offer in Mar which was different from what the principle told me....
I am not a super big fan of Kingston, so just wait and see.  thx for the sharing

I called the school every two months and each time they gave me different answers. Finally they said it's up to the principal to select the candidates and they have no say in it. I am wondering if it is not first come first serve, what other criteria can be. Since I've seen plenty of kids from my estate go to kingston, address should not be a question.

There are 3 P1 classes of 22 each. totalling 66. As i said in another thread, most PG parents do not take kingston primary as first choice and some will leave in PN or K1 anyway. I think everyone who gets in in PN can proceed ultimately to P1, if they wish to.

Don't take on face value everthing said by the school. I believe what she means is that the school has received more than 64 applications now, but i doubt if they have started, let alone, finished the intake procedures. Based on past few years' experience, if you apply for 2014/15 PG now, you still don't stand a chance of securing an AM seat., but PM seat should not be a problem. Even if there are many ahead of you in the waiting list, many will give up if they are only offered PM seats.

As for K1, the first badge who have paid the levy are still in PN, but based on past expereince, about 1/3 will leave after PN, mostly to LS kinder when parents finally made the choice of LS route. Now, that percentage may drop a bit, but as i said, after you paid, it is a sunk cost. As far as i know, many parents have not given up the possibility of LS entirely. Also, some will try those dragon IS that offer K1 (e.g. HK academy, CDNIS, ICS etc).

The waitlist for KIngston is long, but not as long as rumoured here in EK.

Also, there are only 5 classes for K1 and K1 but with larger class, size, rough same number of students as PN

Yes, 2 more classes for 2-years old but only 14 students in 1 class.  I talked to the principle that day which she told me there are 4 PG, 16 students each. 6 2-years Old Class, but only 14 students each.  So 20 extra places would be offered for 2-years old. Very little chance for 3-years Old (K1) because it's the same # of class and size, only if any student drop out which true that some may swtich to another school as quite some good school does not offer N class.  
She also told me they have already finished the intake for PG 2014/15 that my son would have no chance for PG, but maybe for 2-years old.
They are so popular.

$80000 for entry in PG and PN , good through the kinder years. Next time to pay when you want to secure the primary 1 seat. If u join at K1 or K2, it is $40000

True few will leave after PG but then there are 2 more PN classes totaling 32 seats. More will leave after PN. In my class, parents have varying plans. Some still leave LS option open. Some may opt for IS that starts at aged 3 Or 4 etc. once paid, the capital levy is a sunk cost and other factors will come in. If you apply say PN now, I believe you can get in latest by K1 (pm class though ). No cost.

I did clarified with the school,  capital levy has to be paid already when the kid start Playgroup,  therefore not many students would change school.

If you are talking about 2 year old class, it would not be too difficult if you don't mind PM classes, there are 2 additional classes totalling 32 seats in that year group (plus probably a few more for those who left after playgroup for whatever reason). Many parents don't like PM classes, and the capital levy of $80,000 (11% up from last year!!) does put off a lot of parents. It is largely first come first serve and now is probably not too late for 2014/15 admission. You know, the school would certainly say it is difficult , blah blah blah..... But no chance for AM classes.

If you target 3 year old class, as some students will leave after PN when the parents finally made up their mind to go for LS route, there are also about one - quarter of PN students leave. So there is also a chance, if you apply early.
