My 1st child is a boy and currently study in a DSS boys' school.

My 2nd child is a girl, and will apply for P1 in the coming year.

My 2nd child only has 10 points.  

Does it mean that i can only target at DSS or private school for my 2nd child?  Coz i will have almost zero chance for the 1st round of application to subsidized school?

And i don't have a favourite school in the district where i live (Ma On Shan). So even the 2nd round 'Dai Chau Cheung', i don't have hope also.

you should know this result since you first let your boy joined the DSS school. this is your choice, crying does not help you at all, try to be positive, good luck!

But if wait until the release of result in June, and then 叩門, it will be a hard time in the whole year.



By the way, do you apply private and DSS schools? which one is your favourite?

我大仔都係直資男校, 由佢入讀一刻起, 都知道妹妹要打硬仗, 我個校網都唔好 (NET84) 都冇諗過揀, 而家我主力考PRIVATE SCHOOL (AROUND 10間), 如果真係咁黑, 一間都唔中, 就努力叩門.

可以揀母校咪有20分囉！另外，大抽獎甲部都有10個%機會率去誇區學校。由大仔入讀男校那刻，你應該就已經知道無得益個妹啦！

就算像我2名是同一性別, 熱門DSS都已說了 細佬妹都不會好有利, 細的第日唯有靠自已去考多幾間, 冇法了, 但細的通常醒些, 希望到時都可以有好學校.

If your second child is of opposite sex while the first child is studying in a DSS, the second child will deprive the 5 point for first child. For other second child, they can directly admit to their sisters/brothers school. So the second child has very little chance of accepting by a popular school in the first round c.f those who are first kid and those with brothers/sisters in that popular school.
So if the second child can apply to the DSS of the first child (which is not your case), school usually give a privelege to him/her. So if both kids are of opposite sex, think twice before you take the offer of a DSS single sex school. Actually same problem arise if the second child is more than seven years smaller than the first child!

Yes! That's the reason why DSS should accept a bit more kids from the 'related' group.

如果有心儀的直資或私小，考咗先。有offer,可以稍後選擇參加大抽獎與否，或到心儀津貼政府/學校扣門。如果無offer咪參加大抽獎，只有這個做法。
