在年多前在EK討論過減免學分，及對GPA的影響。
今次轉少少話題，如果減免學分到Max，大學提議你孩子直入第2年，你會點建議他？原因？

Since your son has made the decision to accelerate his study, just go for it.
To improve his competitiveness in the employment market, he has time to study a master degree on finance overseas with a top top top college no matter in USA or UK.

Some colleges would require working experience and some may consider the application if his academic record is outstanding.

To be competitive for job or further study with top top top colleges, he needs to have a first or a high two-one. In addition to dating, he needs to focus on his study. With a good honor degree from CU and with a bit of luck, I think he could join the master of finance program of some of the prestigious colleges such as Cambridge and LSE in UK or Stanford, Duke, MIT or UPenn in USA.

                                                                                                                                                                                             What is the difference between the IFAA programme, the QuantitativeFinance programme (QFN), and the Risk Management Science programme(RMS) at CUHK?

There are two major differences. First, IFAA and QFN both belong to the BAFaculty (BAF) whereas RMS operates under the Faculty of Science. The extra-curricular activities that are organized by the BAF, such as the mentorship, internship, and exchange programmes, therefore apply to students enrolledin both the IFAA and the QFN programmes.

Second, the focus of the three programmes is different. The IFAA programme aims to provide in-depth knowledge to persons who wish to pursue careers in the insurance and actuarial professions, whereas the QFN programme aims to provide in-depth knowledge to those who seek careers in investment and finance.The RMS programme focuses more on a statistical and mathematical analysis of various risks, whereas the IFAA programme concentrates on the practicaland financial analysis of risk as faced by insurance companies.
