my case : skip 大仔年, go straight to is, enjoy 3 years to play activities he loves, add tutorial from p4 to enhance skills, hopefully he could get into 直資. risky but happier i guess.
Yes, our children are good and can adapt both Chinese or English media of learning ...
Agree with your comment. Let the child be happy and like to go to school will be more important. Enjoy to learn will let the child picking up more knowledge and be smart.
Yes, our children are good and can adapt both Chinese or English media of learning quick, I think media of instruction is not the big problem of leaning for children, but the teaching style of teachers, atmosphere of learning in school and future living are more concerns in choosing school. But as you said, whatever good school giving our girl an offer, just go for it with faith! We are not super enough to control the result and hope our children enjoy learning! (My gal keeps saying that don't want to go to Chinese kindergarten every morning, it is so annoying to me, hahahaha)
Yup, similar case here for my girl, we have moved back Hk from Australia for 2 years, and my younger girl is going to apply IS school from Sept (will be k2 student at that time). I also think about letting her to study local school since I have a planning to return Australia 5 more years later, so hope she can learn more Chinese. However, she is totally different character as my elder son (who is going to a private local school in coming sept), so see any offer from IS after applying. You know, even we apply, not for sure to get an offer, just be prepared for both streams of school and relax at this application process.
If uk system like esf schools, k2 then grade 1.
For cais canadian system, k2 then preparatory(k3) then grade 1.
I have not yet planned whether study overseas or not later, just want to have a happy childhood. If not study aboard, can still apply local u upon finished grade 12 by non jupas.
parents, are all you aiming to let your kids study overseas later on (secondary or university ? In the mean time, I expect my kid to stay in HK for education for the coming years.
