Can you share your experience in KJS?

Hi KJS parent,

We will be in P1 this year, can you share your experience in KJS?

Like, good teacher you know, does you kid love the teacher there? Love the school?
What kind of activity they do in school? field trip, summer trip?
Any fun group/activity you can join after class? eg dance, farming, sport?
How well is the school communicate with parent?
Do they have dictation/test/exam?
What kind of homework they get?
Kid have to bring their own lunch? how they have it? or you can buy from the school?
etc...

Yes, you can buy winter uniform later.

Yes.  They divided into different routes, you have to find your place on the list then contact the bus driver directly.

I got the list of private school bus provider but didn't mention what I should do with it.
Do I just contact the bus company and arrange by myself?

A book bag is a large plastic bag with a zip in which they can place class reading books and library books. More like a protective cover, in case of lunch box or water bottle leakage. You can usually buy those bags in stationary shops. Just make sure they are big enough to carry library books of different sizes.

The school said she need a "book bag", I suppose that's mean her school bag, right? how big she need? does she have a lot of thing to bring school everyday?

Do they wear PE uniform only the day with PE class? how many time per week? i.e., can I just buy one set of PE clothes?

you still have 2 months to train your child.  Later on, they may have pizza days, camping etc, the food provided may not be their favorite food either.

My girl is not use to eat sandwich/salad, O well, it will be a new challenge for me! & fun I hope... Thx.Yr kid in yr 2? Maybe have change to meet in the school

I agree, I see many kids left behind food though teachers are trying so hard to ask them finish it.  Luckily my son likes my lunch boxes.  The best lunch box should be easy to eat, tasty, and in small amount.

Sushi, bread, sandwich and salad if not rice and noodle in thermo lunchbox.  Kids might eat very little at lunchtime, some might not eat at all as they spent time playing.  You might feel sad if you have spent a lot of effort preparing for their lunches and they brought them home without eating 1/3.  Prepare something simple will do.

I have no problem with cold lunch.  Back in the states, all children brought cold lunch, my son already used to it.  Making lunchbox is so much fun and even teachers sometimes ask me how to make it.  Also I need to tell you a fact, children only have less than 30 mins to finish their lunch, usually only 20 mins, if you need to help teachers to carry books or joining singing club, art club etc, then time is even less.  If you want a hot lunch I don't know other way.

Hi Flashingcat, I personally don't prefer the food taste pack in those thermo lunch box, is this the only way?
How you do it? or if u know how other mom do this?
