i know how victoria works but is rightmind a good school?

其實每個階段的教法都是按孩子需要而有所不同，就像家長照顧一個讀幼稚園的孩子與讀小學的是不同，到中學、大學更要轉變對他們的態度。所以在家長選擇幼稚園、小學、中學、大學時，雖然香港有學校是提供一條龍、直屬或聯繫，但我見幼稚園教的好的，不一定小學都教得好，即使幼稚園與小學都不錯，但到中學變得龍蛇混雜都也有。如果可以一條龍上當然最好，家長及孩子壓力都少些。然而，若家長本身已有一種教學理念的話，為免日後家長與學校的教學理念有別，令小朋友產生困惑或矛盾就不好了。建議家長們先搞清楚自己想日後孩子怎樣，還是依孩子性格興趣給他們發掘其優點及所長。這都與選學校類別有關(尤其是小學及中學)。

anyway today I've called and asked the staff there.  the admin told me teachers in campus are qualified teachers whereas those in kinder u are not.  that makes me feel much better.  but i really have to say the teacher in kinder u is really a shame.  she doesn't prepare well her teaching materials, nor the flash card playing method, neither the french story.  hopefully teachers in rightmind won't be the same or i'd feel like i've been cheated

umm.. I agree with you that not all students attending V would be able to develop righteous behavior, but as what my kid and I have been experiencing in its pg, all of the teachers and staff (incl the one who does cooking and cleaning) are very caring, experienced and being nice, they know kids very well.  they'd try their very best to make sure kids are having the appropriate behavior.  for example when it's the tea time section, the staff would ask kids to take their food from the food corner to their seats by themselves, also would let kids to pull their chairs so that they are sitting on the chair on their own.  if there's kid refused to, the staff would encourage parents not to help them and to encourage the kid to do those on their own.  whereas, if there is, the non-experience staff/teacher would prolly just get the food for the kid so as to stop the kid from crying.  there're too many examples we've experienced at the school which makes me feel that it's a school which take good care of kids' all-rounded development, except for the aspect in academic.  so far i don't see they have a lot of input in academic maybe kids are too young to.  I'm not sure if it'd be the same in K class.

Much stronger english and mandarin as this is the official language vs. just a few hours of english/mandarin in other kindergartens. Cantonese the kids can learn at home

我認為堅持在校內只用英普這雙語環境是rightmind其中一個值得考慮的原因，因為一般本地幼稚園每間都會提供英文及普通話課，但只是上該課堂時才是(約30分鐘)，其他時間老師與校內的員工都是用廣東話的。如果學校有純英普雙語環境想給孩子，家長可在K1至K2時再觀察孩子，了解他們適合讀IS還是LS，到時有助家長選校有較大彈性，因為現在私小及直小的小朋友都同樣要一定程度的英普能力。

其實我之前都有幫仔仔考V校n，而且收咗，但我考完見埋啲老師，我放棄咗，我睇唔到該校老師好有熱誠或愛心(個人感覺或遇到了唔夠好的老師)，而且有好多朋友的仔女讀該校，品行也不一定好，加上我接放學時見到好幾次V校小學同中學嘅學生大庭廣眾下大聲講粗囗，對呢間學校頗反感！
(當然只係我遇到的經歷感覺，冇針對的，我亦冇收好處偏幫)
而我亦幫我仔報埋rm嘅k1，我仔返得開心，老師亦不時分析我仔有咩留意或改善，兼我鍾意到時小學可揀本地或is，我覺得呢啲係我揀rm嘅原因

我所見的又不是如你所言kinderu咁差。我兒是K1才轉到rightmind讀，他由開學至今都很喜歡上學，他還會用普通話告訴我他最喜歡教普通話的老師(我們家只說英文及廣東話)，而且常提著老師說是這樣才對、老師說是那樣才是好寶寶，所以我也很高興他能開心上學而且學到語文及禮貌。

ahh..that's exactly what am I worry about!  I'm afraid the teachers' quality won't be good.  good quality as in knowledge and morality (like if they're caring or if they know which is the suitable way to deal with different kids)

我不認同係香港大多數教育中心都是牟得來以關心小朋友各方面平衡發展為宗旨.很多所謂的"教育中心"其實根本不懂如何培育小孩,更不會兼顧小朋友各方面平衡發展.如果Rightmind真能達到洗腦效果,又無妨入去一讀.最怕送了小孩入學,不但學不到知識,還學不到應有的規矩,不懂待人接物,不懂關愛別人.學校的理念很重要,但要師資配合才能達至效果吧.這點我也擔心rightmind沒有良好的師資,因為我在kinderu上課時那老師根本不懂如何handle the whole class.而那個class只得4個小朋友,再加上4個監護人及一名老師,但老師都不能handle個class.不但如此,講法文故事(播故事聲帶)時更錯哂,根本都不是講緊那一頁,老師卻指著那一頁示意故事聲帶正描述那一頁(本人懂法語)..真的令人很擔心,不知rightmind那邊的老師是否一樣

係香港大多數教育中心都是牟得來以關心小朋友各方面平衡發展為宗旨，至於那些是家長buy的就是家長自己選擇。幫孩子洗腦的，其實是自己家長及官津學校居多。「一間牟來係標榜為小朋友洗腦而肯定其教育」這句是想表達什麼？Rightmind 用 flash cards洗小朋友腦嚴重啲定係成日睇小朋友睇電視、食垃圾食物嚴重啲？Rightmind 用《弟子規》洗小朋友腦？家長不是希望教導子女禮貌、孝順、尊重長輩、愛護身邊人？

為應付小一面試，各家長四出為子女報讀兩文、樂器、畫班、泳班、朗誦比賽等活動，這些多是牟利機構，想問為何還要報呢？

學校是主張提供學習文字的機會給幼兒，flash card是他們用的方法，我本人對此沒有太大期望或抗拒。小孩子學習成效，我覺得真的是建基於愉快同感興趣，大部分幼稚園都標榜愉快學習，只要孩子覺得有趣又愉快的事，他們都會學得很快。

Yes. Exactly. Friend of mine has two daughters. One was in K2 Victoria CWB. One was in K1 Rightmind. The smaller one attented Rightmind because it was close to where they lived. The little one studied for one year then switched to Canadian Intl KG. My friend was not happy with Rightmind, especially when she found her elder one has developed a very gd language foundation after spending two years in Victoria, whereas the smaller one hated the flash cards and threw them in the bin whenever my friend tried to play the cards with her. My friend had a chat with the class teacher at Rightmind, but the teacher just kept telling how her daughter loved the school and the cards so much that there's no way her little one would behave like that at home, bla bla bla and told my friend to try harder at home because their cirriculum was proved to be successful, bla bla bla. My friend found the school was not helping her child at all. I felt so sorry for her and her little daughter.
