My child apply for ESF 2013/14 K1, anybody rec'd the interview letter?

Yes, some "small B's" do get accepted right away. But I also know some cases where they get called back for second assessment.

Sometimes the teachers just want to reassess them for whatever reason (immaturity, or even sometimes in the past, when the play visits were even less formal, and they didn't have enought time to interact with a particular child.) At least I know of some such cases in my son's ESF kindie.

The fact that the letter says "...before we offer you a place" sounds like the above poster's child is being assessed for a confirmed space as opposed to a waitlist place - based on "ESF lingo".

How old is your little girl? If she is a young one (born Oct-Dec), they may like her but find her a bit immature and hence, offering you a second interview two months later.

no one word about waiting list.
i really do not understand the difference between waiting list letter and mine.

no it is our first girl.
but it just said second VISIT, not play visit.

and it is arranged on April!!  we need to wait for about two months!!

do u have elder one studying at ESF schools?
2nd interview usually for those with siblings already studying in ESF schools.

no. the first line in the letter is APPLICATION TO KINDERGARTEN: SECOND VISIT

they said it is essential that you attend the second visit before a place can be offered.

so what does it mean?

Does the letter tell you they can offer you a place? Every offer letter first sentence states very clearly for all ESF kindergarten, Junior school and PIS.

we also got the letter, but i am confused that they said we need to go to WKS for second visit. is any body in the same situation???

thanks for your advice, but on the letter they said the alocation of AM/PM is made at random and unfortunately it will not be possible to change the allocation. Therefore, I'm not sure if the request letter can help, but thanks anyway, I will have a try.

Are you in Cat 2? We attended the play visit on Jan 18.

I also got the 'active waiting list' letter, really disappointed too

Really disappointed.

Just received a letter from WKS which stating that although my girl was succeeded in the play visit but she is only being put in the “active waiting list” due to the enrolment capacity had already been reached. It’s really suprised me as there’s no indication that we were on waitlist in the invitation letter to the play visit. Does anyone receive the same letter like ours? We are on Cat 2. Any parent can share whether the chance of being admitted is high or low?

I think most of the parents prefer AM class. The chance of swapping is quite low

same here, we hold boxhill PM offer, and it is true that boxhill is more academic than esf kinder. I think boxhill will be more competitive from next academic year, given esf kinders will have no more inteview priority

I am still wondering between this two if I could get the offer from esf wks.

we hold an offer from boxhill.at the beginning, i think boxhill may be more academic, as they offer english, mandarin and cantonese.
but i have to say the chance to go to esf primary is much higher in WKS.
