Something funny I noticed during SC interview. The kids who were assigned to our table were all so uninterested in the old Legos that no one touched it except for one boy who just held it in his hands and weren't building anything at all!!!
Of course my choosy girl has zero interest in those Legos and just chatted away with me
I couldn't blame the kids at all as you can't expect kids to be thrilled at the sight of boring Legos in a crowded room and were not offered any choice at all!!
I swear I have seen prettier Lego sets with the human figures cars and foods etc
On the contrary, Creative's free play assessment was much much better organized in that the classroom was roomy enough for kids to move around to go to the shelves at the back of the classroom to choose and pick the set of toys so neatly organized inside plastic trays! At Creative the kids can then bring the tray back to his/her seat and start playing with them!
From these two distinctly different arrangements I can say I prefer Creative over St Cat as I believe Creatice would teach and nurture a child's skills and knowledge by building on what interests them rather than forcing them to do things for the sake of being asked to and having to be obedient.
Frankly I was quite disappointed in St Cat as I myself is alumni
I believe in learning through fun and exploration not through stressful training and repetition.
