根據第一屆DSE,F.3升F.4選科策略

1.入大學選修理科比文科機會大一些
2.除非想入科大，否則不修M1/M2，集中火力中英數通識四主科更好
3.選修二科比選修三科或只修一科有利

請各位有經驗的家長發表一下意見！

據我所知, 大部份DSE升讀大學的考生都係讀3X的, 如以三大黎講, 平均係80%以上獲取錄學生都有3科選修, 所以, 有能力一定係讀3X, 只讀2X係比較冒險的...
另外就係, M1/M2除了科大會當佢係一科咁計, 其他大學都係將佢同MATHS一齊睇, 邊科高分D就計果個GRADE, 譬如MATHS拎5, M1拎4, 咁佢會當你MATHS係5, 但如果MATHS得4, 而M1拎5, 大學會當你在MATHS拎到5...一般係咁處理, 但科大唔係...
科大將M1/M2當獨立一科選修科咁計, 如果一個考生本身讀M1, 3X, 加埋中英數通, 在科大計算之中係當你有8科, 咁佢除了必修4科之外, 會在M1及3X四科之中揀最高兩科黎計分...
不過, 無論大學計幾多科, 考生多讀一科, 通常會有加分的! 因為DSE之下, 同分的考生實在不少, 額外科目會成為重要的收生參考啦!

想請問點解D人成日話M1/M2係半科？其實M1/M2同其他elective的weighting 係咪唔同? 又或者只係某些學院至count as elective ?

Well, it depends on those elite schools consider the policies of EDB or HKEAA on Chinese language are the needs of political gestures or the reality and how much resource will be deployed to Chinese language.

EDB and HKEAA changed the curriculum and exam format to enforce Chinese Language importance in HK, but its political gesture more than reality.
I know my comment is political incorrect, but English still the major language in most fronts.

Not just GBUS, but also for most programs.
Why not for Chinese and LS?

I have talked to the admission officer of UST recently.  They prefer business students especially GBus with good grade in Eng and Maths.  This is why they give double weighting for these two subjects.

No, she gt some * , but Chem got 5 finally, game over.
For medic, this year's admission grades much lower than we expect, due to double cohort.
This year is another story, the admission grade will be higher..

A friend of mine, his daughter took core plus M2, Physics, Chem and Biology. In our previous conversation, he said if she dropped Physics and M2 at F5, she had a good chance to get in Medic in 2012.

Too many subjects also not a good strategy.
